I received my AMS HT today and also encountered this problem. The A1 only has a 4-pin input, while the AMS HT has a 6-pin connector. This problem can’t have happened with an OTA firmware update. I contacted support, and the response was:
“how to connect them will be posted out.
Sofar we do not have more information”
My guess is that you’ll have to purchase an add-on package, similar to the AMS Hub or the 4-in-1 PTFE adapter.
Hopefully with a 6-to-4 pin cable and a 5-in-1 PTFE adapter to be able to use it with the AMS Lite.
Yes, I’m already considering returning the AMS HT and waiting and then reordering.
I also asked support this question: whether there will be a separate version for the A1 series or how they handle it.
I didn’t really get an answer. The only response I got was:
“I don’t quite understand. AMS HT is AMS HT.”
Well, I don’t know. They could at least say whether there will be a separate add-on or whether it’s a separate version.
An eine spezielle AMS Version für A1 / mini glaube ich nicht. Wir müssen einfach abwarten was da kommt. Ein paar Informationen von Bambulab währe aber schon toll.
Honestly, I just can’t understand — if they make the AMS 2 Pro compatible, why not the AMS 1 as well? I mean, I have four of them at home, and it’s annoying to have to buy an AMS 2 Pro for the A1 Mini. I would have gladly reused one of my AMS 1 units. I don’t believe there are technical reasons for this, only commercial ones — and frankly, I find that demoralizing.
@SupportAssistant
Could you please tell us why the AMS 2 Pro will be compatible with the A1 series but not the first-gen AMS? What’s the difference? I own 7 first-gen AMS units — am I really forced to spend more money (and not a small amount) to buy an AMS 2 Pro just for my A1 Mini? If that’s the case, it’s ridiculous.
IIUC you need the AMS 2 Pro, and the AMS Hub to do the 4 pin to 6 pin conversion. The page for the AMS Hub doesn’t mention A1 compatability though, so presunably that will change.
Possibly daft question because I couldn’t it on the AMS 2 Pro page, does it come with the correct power adapter to get drying?
No, there’s no power supply included, but you can find cheaper ones on Amazon — 100W, 24V, with a 2.5mm jack. I think to get the AMS 2 working with the A1 series there will still need to be some kind of buffer, something in between that they’ll have to come up with — maybe that’s why it’s taking them so long.
I’m going to equip my A1 with two AMS HT units. I’ll also use them to dry filaments for the H2D and silica gel. I don’t want the H2D running for days just to dry filament. The A1 or A1 Mini are significantly cheaper.
