Hello,
I have the X1C and yesterday during a multicolor print I had to realize that EVERY time he wants to pull back a full and new filament reel for the color change, the filament jumps on the reel next to it.
it happens on the 4th slot of the AMS1 and it happens on the 2nd slot of the AMS2.
it just always happens when the spool is full (1KG), the spool is a bit emptier or half empty, the same thing happens but then the filament doesn’t jump over, there is less on it.
Can someone please tell me what I should do now? it’s all original Bambulab
Make sure that the spool can rotate freely on the rollers. When filament isn’t winding back onto the spool it’s because the spool is catching or slipping.

The coil is free, that’s not the problem, as you can see in this picture, the coil is spinning, because of too much weight and too little adhesion I guess. You can clearly see the abrasion of the rollers on the spool
After roughening the rolls with coarse emery all around, it got much better.
The spool could have been loaded or pulled off center. You won’t get those “skid marks” on a free turning spool. Lifting them clear and reinserting works for me. Being you took it out and sanded on it did the same function–Re-seating.
My new machine did this also only once…but I had the reel in the slot offset from the left inside foot that keeps the reel to the left…my bad…
I usually now make sure when I put the reel in the slot before I insert the filament it rolls free…just a procedural check for me now…
I also wondered if there could be ‘junk’ inside the roller area so I now check for a ‘clean’ insert area…
All good things I suppose…
yeah if you offset the reel to the right or even in the center , it does not turn it and damages it
it is very easy to do so as it need to be aligned to the left now checking every time , with a bit rotation before closing the ams
