AMS Solid Red Light

I currently have a solid red light showing on AMS Slot 2. I took the AMS apart, checked all tubes for filament and reassembled.

Also took apart the filament hub on the back of the printer and checked all PTFE through to the toolhead; no filament, no clogs.

What else could this be that is causing Slot 2 to think there is filament loaded when none is present?

Had a ticket open with Bambu for almost 2 week now with no response, so I’m giving up on their supposed “Support System”.

You may have a piece of filament stuck in the AMS internal hub.

It’s kind of tedious.

If you have some piano wire to push thru the hub that works without tearing it apart.

Haha of course I might…

I just had that hub out and ran filament through each of the 4 tubes, thinking that probably meant I was ok.

Looks like I’ll have to disassemble again though and check the magnets and other areas that weren’t readily visible.

Thanks for the link, I’ll see if that helps and report back.

EDIT: Actually after reading the link you posted, having that magnet be out of place might cause a misread on filament status even if there isn’t filament stuck. Could definitely be the issue on Slot 2 so I’ll see what I can uncover.

Pulled all magnets and reseated. There was no filament stuck in or around the magnets, but reseating them has solved the issue.

Thanks for the help! Much quicker and more effective than the support I found from Bambu on the app!

Thank you for this! I had the same problem and tried the same things as OP. This was the solution. Thanks!

Did any of you by chance take a video of how you did it? I think I might have put my magnets back in the wrong orientation as they came flying out because I forgot to put the aux magnet.

Thank you for sharing this link! I was having same problem and turned out there was a tiny sliver of plastic stuck in the assembly near the magnet. All good now! Thanks!
