AMS spool does not keep up with retraction

When the AMS is retracting the filament the spool is spinning too slow. This then causes the filament to bunch up inside the lid of the AMS. During one of the retractions the filament will get wrapped around an adjacent spool. Most of my spools are SunLu. However I see the issue with both SunLu and Bambu filament. The issue occurs with full spools and partial spools.

I have owned the unit for about 2 years and never experienced this issue before. The printer has about 500hours of use

What I have tried:

  • I have taken the AMS apart and checked for debris.
  • I have cleaned the rubber roller with Alcohol
  • I have checked the rear rollers and they spin smoothly
  • Blew out the PTFE tubes with air compressor
