AMS thinks there is filament in the line that is not there

On my slot 4 of my AMS, it thinks there is filament in the line that its trying to retract before loading another filament. This happened when I decided to switch from my side spool to the AMS. I removed the side spool filament then tried to load filament from AMS slot 4. It think it loaded and shows red line from AMS to the Buffer only. Not from buffer to the nozzle. However nothing is there. Unless perhaps a piece of filament broke tripping the sensor. Any ideas on how to fix this? Can I open the cover where the Buffer is and try and see if something is there inside?

I tried updating the firmware on the printer to see if it was an error, but once updated nothing changed. For now I have disconnected the AMS cable so it does not think material is in the line and its printing fine form the side spool. So at least its still running.

Thoughts?

I have a length of 1.5mm piano wire I use to “purge” the filament path. Long enough and flexible enough to get from the AMS through the buffer and almost to the back of the printer. Only had to do it once with some older brittle filament I ended up throwing away because it kept breaking.

When you push the wire through which direction did you go and how did you get filament remnant out? Were you sble to push it to a quick disconnect area so it would fall out on its own? So your thinking I have a broken piece of filament somewhere and a sensor is being flagged by that piece?
