I bought the AMS 2 PRO after buying the X2D. At checkout, I specified the X2D and the AMS did not come with a power supply. It looks like I can’t print while drying even at PLA settings. Should it have come with an external power supply? If not, If i buy one, can i also print at and dry higher temp filaments too?

No, it does not come with one by default. You will need to buy the adapter.
Yes, you will be able to take full advantage of the AMS2Pro capabilities which allows you to dry at temps up to 65C.
If you need to dry filament requiring a higher temp the AMSHT supports up to 85C. Anything above 85C will need a third-party option.
My personal opinion, drying and printing at the same time is overrated (especially PLA and PETG). Some people have good luck drying TPU while printing, I have better luck getting it fully dry before a print and maintaining humidity in the room I print in.
Looks like you might be fairly new. My best advice, experiment and see what works best for you. Have fun and don’t over think it. Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the reply. Yes new hear. Had an Ender 2 pro about 6 years ago but spent more time fiddling and adding function then getting good prints. The X2D is like magic so far. And yeah, not really trying to do too much at one time, but I had weird issue yesterday:
I had set the AMS to dry PLA. Then I decided to print something, and rather than turning off the dry cycle I thought I would see what happens. Bambu studio gave me a pop up warning about printing and drying and I said OK, but apparently there was another dialogue box, behind that -I can’t remember what it said, but in a nutshell, I tried to cancel the print, Studio said it could not, but real time video would not load on it, or Handy an hour later. The printer was not active, but couldn’t be contacted, AMS was not drying either. Clicked on the printer display and all started working again.
So I thought getting a power supply would at least mitigate this in the future. Although likely a software/firmware bug that Bambu will address too.
Just got some TPU, and plan to dry it, then give it a try. So far ASA, PETG without issues.
Although the AMS2 has the dryer built in I still prefer the SunLu AMS dryer lids. Its nice that they have a seperate power supply and are independent of the Bambu software. They are limited to 60c but that works for me. I love that i have them set to activate automatically according to the humidity level I set and it does this with out having the printer powered on. I guess having the ability to dry while printing is nice, I guess if your printing 24/7 it would be useful but other than that, I really dont see any advantage to it. Basically the Sunlu does monitor and maintain low humidity 24/7 and once a month I run a 6 hour cycle really more to recharge the desiccant that lives in the AMS rather than dry the filament as the filament just always stays dry. For the most part both my AMS units are always at only 8% to 10% humidity
