AMS2 Pro NonStop Feed Issue - Odometer?

I have an AMS2 Pro that probably only has around 20 hours on it and is having an issue where it will continuously trying to feed filament (doesnt matter brand) even when it is fully in to the print head. Eventually it will retract back after almost of minute of still trying to feed and give me an error related to the Odometer having no signal. I believe it is code [HMS_0700-0200-0002]. I’ve checked the connections per the Wiki on this error and they seem fine. A support ticket has been submitted, has the main board gone bad?

I have the same problem with hardly any use of AMS 2; I opened a ticket 6 days ago and still haven’t received a response.

Here is what they will tell you just to help you speed it up

From the information provided, this issue is related to an error in the filament movement measurements coming from the AMS Internal Hub. This is caused by either a bad Internal Hub Board or the AMS Power Board.

We need to determine which item is causing the problem, and a video or clear pictures of the Hub’s odometer wheel circuit board will help us determine if this circuit is compromised. If needed, please follow this Wiki on the removal of the Internal Hub as a reference to remove the Hub: Replace AMS 2 Pro Internal Hub Unit and Internal Hub Motor | Bambu Lab Wiki

This fix could be as simple as bending one of the sensors a little closer to the odometer wheel. The sample picture below shows the sensors. The sensor in the Red Box needs to be adjusted closer to the wheel. The sensor in the Green Box demonstrates what the correct proximity distance should be. We have had success with this method and it would only be for a temporary fix. If this method does allow the AMS 2 to work properly, we can still provide a replacement Internal Hub Assembly as the long-term solution.

Next, check the AMS Power Board connections. Make sure the connector soldered to the board has not become partially detached. This Wiki guide will help with accessing this board: Replace AMS 2 Pro Power Board | Bambu Lab Wiki

If we determine the Hub is at fault, we can send a replacement AMS 2 Pro Internal Hub Assembly to fix this problem. Or, if you discover that the connection to the AMS Power Board is compromised, we can send that part to fix this issue.

For me it was the part circled in green in the 2nd photo. The sensor circled in red was closer so I just pushed the other one in a smig to match the same distance from the wheel and it worked. They will send you a new internal hub assembly though. Might have luck push pushing those sensors in slightly closer to the wheel and just let them know so you can get a new assembly. Which ever one of the 2 is closer, match the other one to that closeness and see if it fixes it.

Thank you very much for the instructions. As soon as I can, I will try to check according to the images. They haven’t replied to my ticket yet.

No problem. If you having the same issue that exactly what they will tell you to check and they’ll have you send picture of the area so snap a couple so you dont have to take it apart again to do that.

Thank you so much qwiktune for your help. Thanks to the images you sent, I was finally able to solve the problem by moving the sensors closer to the odometer wheel. bambulab replied to my ticket today and said they’re sending me a new inner hub, but with that simple tip I was able to continue printing. Thanks again.

Yup, then you indeed had the same exact issue and out come that I had. Glad to help!
