I’ve got a question for all you experts out there! Is this ringing? And what do ya’ll suggest I try to smooth this out? This is the first time I’ve seen this texture type thing show up on one of my prints. Everything up to this point has been seemingly fine.
Could you post your settings for the filament and maybe the the slicer results (speed and volumetric flow rate). I would be als interesting to know the type of filament you use.
Known issue. Long thread in here on Banding/Ringing covering this. Another user idea and potential fix in progress.

I’ve figured that this is what’s called banding or VFA and have since found an other thread where I have furthermore explored, tested and disproved a couple of theories.
Christian: thanks for offering your help, I’m new to 3d printing and didn’t know what I was seeing.
Sticks: I don’t know what you’re trying to accomplish with your post but I believe it’s moot.
For future people that stumble across this thread: if your having the same issue, this is called banding, ringing, VFA (Vertical Fine Artifacts) and or sometimes simply ripple. It can be caused by any number of things but I suggest doing a bit of Google foo as if you ask politely what it is your likely to get more than a answer in return.
I was trying to direct the OP to the thread about this issue, and get a full understanding of what, why, and the attempts to correct, including the fact that BL tech has washed their hands of the issue - it is a normal fact of life in FDM printing.
Lots of people are contributing valid theories and actually making attempts at solutions. Trial and error.
One of us is going to find the fix for everyone. Just a matter of time.
