Another deceived H2D customer

Well… Where to start…

Having got a farm of X1s and P1S since day 0 (kickstarter days) to date, fighting comments like “thanks for being our beta testers” upon release of the printers, having to bet against the well settled Prusa (and our Prusa farm) to an unknown brand which couldn’t offer a reliability scenario (vital for a farm) and having surpassed this with an awesome grade (printers are still printing to date with only minor nozzle / gear changes and minimal to no manteinance (just cleaning the carbon rods everyonce in a while)… The long awaited H2D arrives.

A beast in all senses when you have one in front of you. Weight, construction, details, parts, and… Flaws.

Why flaws? Why?? Bambu has had a long time to cook this thing flawless! The infamous A1 Callback gave them time enough to launch up to 2 new printers if they would have wanted to. We’ll in fact they did. The laser thingy. But back to the main core:

It sounds ridiculous you wait for a bigger printer and you can’t use the full volume because the uneven heating element on the bed will make even PLA warp during long prints. And I don’t mean a full volume single piece squared box but pieces scattered thru the bed and the ones far from the serpent element simply warp badly.

Of course, techies (me included) can handle a miriad of solutions to skip or minimize the issue: use less volume, use hairspray, increase bed temp (already at 65C, absorbing heat included), add mouse ears (to round objects?? Lol), reduce fans for PLA because H2d is too windy… Like c’mon. This is sold as “prosumer” and the price tag is way far from the 449 of the P1 series that take you to the same place just with more poop (I don’t do multicolor that much)!

So, yeah, mayhe, TLDR, for the 1st time in Bambu history, and incomprehensible, they may have released a half backed product.

Like someone put recently on the Z banding thread, at this price point one would expect a fire n forget type of product. Yeah, I know the saying, this is 3d printing, get ready to tweak, and I can, and I don’t mind, but not so much at this price point, specially when I didn’t need to on the previous series. That’s what. I’m saying here.

Rabt over.

I don’t understand. I am about to load up an asa-cf print for a service my company does. my h2d has been amazing, been using it more than my x1c. its been super accurate on my z axis, I haven’t seen any wobble, I haven’t run the full height tho.

I second that. I have never had any problems with H2D. PLA, PETG, TPU and ABS i have printed with success. I have used Bambulab, Sunlu, eSun and Redline filament without a hitch. So i can’t say anything negative.

The fact that neither of you have seen any issues, and hopefully won’t, doesn’t invalidate the experiences detailed so many times in the forum of those with so many different issues with the H2D.

The most descriptive summary so far is:

While many problems stem from the delivery of this far heavier printer than they have designed before that should be delivered by two people and is often delivered by one who seem to typify those found in YouTube videos, the remaining problems are many.

Be grateful yours work and hope they continue to and it isn’t just that you haven’t yet found something others already had.

Others have real issues that shouldn’t be dismissed by those lucky enough to not experience the sense of flushing a lot of money down the toilet.

Well, to add insult to the jury, I went to try and cancel the ongoing warped print (SPOILER: this particular one was NOT warped in the end LOL i should sleep more, but I have had warping on other prints so…) and this just happened.

Note how the display thinks the clicks are happening elsewhere, but also notice how certain clicks trigger “other” funcions not present on current screen. The only way to recover from this was, of course, switching it off and back on :frowning:

If only there was a “github” for the firmware/hardware issues/feature requests…

I go to wait some time for see if this problems continue. If i buy the H2D and come with the cad luck i don’t have time or patience for deal with supports, returns…
I continue with the P1S some time (i want the H2D but not that much)

Well tbh this was the very first time this issue with the dispay happened right after the last firmware update so i hope it’s just a software issue and not a hardware (cpu heat/overload) thing…

The video doesn’t play for me.

It didn’t work for me either. Right click on the black area and “Copy Link”. Open a new tab in your browser then Paste to the address bar. It’s a Drop Box link. I’m guessing BL doesn’t want the video to get views. :money_mouth_face:

The link goes to a web page. He needs to change the last bit of the link from dl=0 to dl=1 or raw=1. That’s how DropBox works.

I finally got the video to work by inspecting the HTML page and then locating the url and manually putting it in a new tab.

Your display appears to have calibration issues.

This may be solved with a firmware update for the display or you may require a new display.

You need to create a ticket, share this video with them.

It will take a while as they do not handle tickets/suuport quickly.

Why should he need a firmware update? I do not have this error. A support ticket is right way.

You typed all that just to complain about uneven bed heating? Lol.

I haven’t found the bed heating to be an issue. Haven’t lost adhesion or needed to add more heat for anything.
I even used my flir to see how it looks when warmed up and it looks pretty dang even to me. Of course within the first 5-10 minutes the bed isn’t going to be warmed up evenly. By the time the printer is done with its pre print stuff, it will be nice and even.

As for cooling, yes it’s got much better cooling capabilities. Turn it down as you see fit.

No special setup, all defaults, straight out of the box …

No doubt!
When I see these posts about people running “printer farms” I have to digress and wonder why anyone would use a hobbyist device in this manner.
Look at the design and one can see these are not meant for industrial/printer farm use!
They aren’t designed for industrial use at all!
Beyond this I’m having no problems as described.
Uneven bed heating does not show to be a problem with any printing I do.

Why do people think “I do not have this error” means no one has this error?

Have you never had a faulty product or known someone who has?

It happens.

Do not imply your experience is their experience.

Be grateful you are not experiencing what so many others are.

Congratulations.

I assume you are posting this to brag you are not experiencing issues as if that means no one else is.

I hope your printer doesn’t end up with a fault you need help with.

That’s a screen touch panel issue. Def make a support ticket. Could be calibration but may need a new panel.

Waiting for my 2nd H2D. 1st one had what I think was factory damage as the box wasn’t damaged enough there to cause it. Same damage as some others saw by the Z rod bottom mount. I kind of wonder if something is happening factory or shipping that damages the Z rod mount/gearing that is causing banding. I definitely was not accepting new panels to repair mine as pressure had to be put on the z rod mount/gearing as well with the damage I had. If I were Bambu, I would design a bottom panel to protect that area.

Because you wrote in a global manner. Reread your post or try to edit your strong believes in the context of your machine. And then you wondering about the answers. Thats an interesting view

I will assume you have not read all the other threads on this forum and elsewhere detailing the many issues with H2D, many of which quote these issues.

Too many for a few DOA or a small number of general faults.

We are here for your post, not of others. Another interesting point of view. How can you speak for others? I can proof with pictures that there issnt any global problem going on - this what your post is going to point to and thats simply not true.

Peeps writing books about things they change here, play there blablabla, nothing what gets to a professional point.
