Having the mouse buttons on Bambu Studio being different from my other CAD software is annoying and wastes time. The primary mouse button serves one of two functions (move or rotate), depending on where you happen to click. That is especially bad.
Is there any hope that Bambu Lab will eventually let us customize our mouse buttons?
Your mouse software should allow you to ‘application specific’ set each button to do whatever you want it to. That is the job of the mouse, not the software application.
I fully agree with the OP! It is so annoying. Especially, since middle and right button have the same function move, while the left mouse button has two functions. if they leave everything as is but assign rotate to the middle mouse button, I would already be much happier.
That is not right, how should you reassign in the mouse driver, how the application uses the buttons? Maybe you can swap buttons, but that doesn’t help here.
That is incorrect. Adjusting the mouse buttons directly affects all applications using the mouse. I want to fix just the Bambu Studio button assignments.
Better mouse software allows for application specific mods. I know because I’ve used good mouse software that does it right.
Heck, even Microsoft does some things right sometimes.
That would be great if I used a Microsoft mouse. It doesn’t work with my Logitech. Bambu Studio should provide the button options, just as all my other high end apps do.
RAmeeti seems to have a Microsoft mouse, to which he can change button actions based on individual applications. His suggestions don’t work if you have a mouse that is not Microsoft.
Yes, but that is only useful to swap mouse buttons or assign some generic functions or e.g. keystrokes. It can’t add functions that aren’t in the application. In Bambu Lab there are no isolated functions for rotating or selecting, so the mouse software can’t assign them to a button either.
