I’ve got a print that needs some special attention at about layer 100/300 and it would be really nice to be able to see the current progress as in “Printing layer xxx of xxx”. I can always sit and watch the printer for that moment to happen but it would be much nicer to sit on the couch and watch the layer count progress.
I have wished for something like this. Another thing that’s there in OctoPrint. Sigh.
What is the special attention then ? You can add a pause in the slicer ??
That would indeed be a nice feature to add, to both the printer UI and the Device tab on Bambu Studio.
I was thinking the same thing. Honestly you should be able to see what line you are on in the app or browser. The information is certainly available.
Is the M117 command supported on the printer/app/studio? If so, you could add something in the layer change gcode to show the current layer if the variable is available like it is in PrusaSlicer.
I was hoping to see that someone else has tried this by now, but I guess no one has, so I’ll give it a shot when I have time and report back.
Bambu Studio has it on the latest release(check the release notes) but the feature won’t work until the next firmware update.
