I am so devastated that the smoke purifier dosnt come with the machine, I mean it was literally an almost $5000 machine and I can’t get the ventilator? That is crazy!
I would agree. No air purifier is a pretty sad thing for it. And the 40W is only good for cutting, while the work I want to do don’t really rely on that. I just want to do more of marking work with it.
Thinking of the bright side, it’s not too hard to make a “usable” or “responsible” vent out device yourself. Just need a couple cheap fans and more pipes, a couple hepa+activated carbon filters i guess…
I guess, but I still get scared of the fumes, but I guess that’s what I get for not reading everything
Hopefully you’re not putting the device in a non ventilated basement
If you have the luxury of some sort of ventilation nearby, then you can use the DIY filter&air pump to vent it outside.
I did some stainless steel marking last week and I had to have the laser at 90-100% to get it to mark dark. I don’t know if it would be possible with the 10w or it would have to be going really slow to do it. So for cutting deep (wood/acrylic) or marking at a reasonable speed on metal I think the 40w is required. I can say laser cutting paper and marking stainless steel with the smoke purifier left zero smell in my office.
yes, if you work with metal then 40w is the way to go. You still cannot get good cutting but at least the marking process is fast.
bambu told me to buy it because using the laser will create fume and small particle that can after a while create issue with the H2D, except if you do a good cleaning everytime
my main issue an i hope that is not the case, i saw a review of both laser and they show that 10w is better to engrave picture on wood…are you telling me you can’t lower the power of the 40w to do the same ? because that is a big issue for me if you can’t
you can lower the power, but you can’t increase the resolution… unfortunately
so the 40w is essentially a faster machine at the cost of lower marking quality, but it also can do things that the 10W cannot like cutting thicker stuff.
I did some small key chains engraving with pictures of my kids and made it look like stencil outline and the fine details was really good with the 40w.
so the 10w has a better resolution ? couldn’t they combine both like laser pecker do ?
pretty big difference for small things, but imo it’s more like a flavour difference. you better to have both i gues…
except when you buy the combo they only give you one
If I did ever use the laser, I don’t think I’d rely on an air purifier. I’d set up direct ventilation to outside.
Can never vent too much!
I did receive the air purifier and both lasers but I have only used the 40W and I did vent it outside directly. I have cut a lot of wood for prototypes and especially the acrylic is still slow.
For me engraving is just a fun trick, I want to create models and fit that the 10W seems underpowered for me. On the other hand it is overpowered if you want to engrave detailed photos (which I don’t do).
More expensive isn’t always better, I think there are two distinct use cases for the two lasers and for me the 10W just doesn’t cut it. So I’m content
And “upgrading” afterwards with a10W should at least be less expensive than the other way around
My experience is the same — running the purifier at maximum during cutting and lowering it during engraving eliminates any odor completely. Even with a 40W laser, you won’t be able to scratch bare aluminum, but anodized aluminum can be engraved with quite nice results.
我覺得之後應該會出不同波長的雷射頭模組.以更好的適用於金屬的雕刻能力.
yeah its the same like nozzle size in 3d printing. the 10w laser is more accurate.
I’m glad I got the 10w and not the 40w, but with that said… I wish there was more YouTube content on Bambu Suite and the laser/cutter in general. Literally nobody is making dedicated content yet.
