Approach To Manual Supports

I am finding it extremely difficult to remove the support, in some cases. I was wondering if manually adding the supports in “spots” or only in certain “places” and having it spaced out, would reduce the problem of trimming the support filament which is difficult to separate

Here’s my pic of hand drawn supports.

Any Thoughts?

There is a tool that allows you to “paint” supports in the Prepare tab. You might want to play around with that. I’ve used it on several occasions and the nice thing is that you can paint some supports, slice the model, and look at the result and erase it if you think that what you just did will not work. So erase and try something different.

I’ve had some success using the method you are describing. For me, I focus on the exterior edges and try to limit to total volume in the interior. In your image, I might be concerned that that there are exterior edges without supports - those could result in some issues with the print.

Here’s an example of how I’ve painted on manual supports:

Yeah… I see that.
Some of my “paint” or “support goes here” lines, were more like extending rafters out past the edge of the house, and then… hoping… the printer lays down the roof nicely across the extended rafters.

When you open the paint supports tab there is a slider you can move around. When you move it back and forth you should see a checkerboard pattern either shrink or grow in response.
That pattern is what Studio draws to reflect the extent of the support.
