Are there any hidden advantages to not redeeming boosts immediately?

I always redeem boosts immediately upon receiving them.
I’m wondering if it makes sense to wait or not.

None that come to mind.

However, seeing a big number appear is physiologically better than seeing many smaller ones.

It would be equally, if not more, beneficial if boosts were automatically converted into points when received.

The reason boosts may not be auto converted is that they may be part of a reward system yet to be introduced.

I think they targeting active users also. Boosts can expire if you don’t convert them in time. This benefits active users and is incentive for less active users.

The whole boost system is targeted toward greater involvement in the application on both fronts.

In MakerWorld, there are two types of boosts:

  • Boost Tokens: These are the ones you earn and they expire after two weeks.

  • Boosts: These are the ones you receive from other users and they never expire .

I’m talking about the Boosts.

Very interesting. I did not realize that the boosts didn’t expire; I assumed that since the tokens did, it only made sense for the boosts to also expire.

I have always redeemed mine as soon as I get them, but I guess I didn’t look closely enough at them to see that they didn’t expire.

To me it only makes sense that they should expire, and it is a reward for those active in the community.

Otherwise, what is the point to making us redeem them and not automatically just give us the points??

I’m wondering the same :man_shrugging:

I’m wondering if we’ll get to use them on other people’s models. So if you boost me, I can pass it on and boost someone else. :person_shrugging:
