Are they ever going to fix the camera on the A1 Series?

I sure wish Bambu would fix the camera issues with the A1 series! My P1S camera works fine and I can check on a print from anywhere, but neither of my A1s cameras work while the printer is running. Bambu has known about this issue for months and hasn’t done a dang thing. They’re busy asking for feedback but haven’t fixed long term known issues.

I agree, the cameras on the A series are a joke.

I doubt they can fix the issues in software as the hardware limitations are more likely the limiting factors.

They looked to cut corners on costs to get the price low.

I put security cameras in front of my A-series printers, it is not ideal, but, a far better image, always works and a steady and fast frame rate.

Hallo,
do you you know why the LAN symbol appears next to the printer? I am using the wifi connection. And i have the same problem with the camera, it is very slow.

Thank you

But we use Blink around the house too, so it made sense for us.

You could also use a Wyze cam, they’re inexpensive.

I’m confused as all my cameras work fine on the A1 and A1 mini. I can view them from both Bambu Studio and Orca Slicer. Did you have this problem from new? Or do cameras slowly fail over time?

I think some are just disappointed with the frame rate.

As for me I had an extra cam so why not? Hardly use them other than checking in while long print and I’m gone.

As soon as I discovered the ‘1080p’ camera on the A1 Mini had to send a stream over the internet via wifi and this stream has to be streamed into the browser from a Bambu Labs Server, I knew it would be virtually useless. I use a Raspberry Pi3B+ with a cheap USB camera and MotionEyeOS giving 1080p at 30fps - I had an old Pi and camera laying around so it did not cost me anything.

Welcome to the forum.
wifi is the only connection possible and that connection is to your local area network (LAN) - if you select LAN only mode , you are simply connecting direct to the printer and not going over the internet via a Bambu Labs Server.

Tapo C210 on a small tripod. Can view full speed 2k video with night vision. Doesn’t cost much, viewable via an app and can use it to “patrol” full left to full right while you are on holiday.

Nope, it absolutely will not load ANY feed while the printer is running. Sitting idle it loads just fine, but when the print is actually running, and you know, the camera would be useful…no feed at all.

I’ve got an open ticket about another issue with my A1, but once they finally fix that I’ll probably open a ticket about the camera too, and keep opening them until they actually fix the issue.

tapo c110 camera is the best cheap option with the mount you can find here on makerworld… the stock camera is worthless and horrible angle why didnt they make it able to angle it how you prefer

Sounds like you’re on it. Hopefully they’ll get it squared away.

Hallo,
yes i know that there are 2 options
Ι use the Wifi connection but it shows the LAN icon. Is it normal?

By LAN icon , do you mean the wifi connectivity symbol?
I put my mini in LAN only mode and there is no icon that indicates LAN only but the wifi connectivity icon stays on.
If the wifi connection icon is off the printer is in stand alone mode and can only be used via the touch screen to print models already on the SD card.

I have the same issue but I have realized its due to recording a timelapse during the print. If I disable the timelapse feature I am able to access the camera again during the printing process. I think the CPU is not powerfull enough to deal with liveview and recording.

I bought my A1 printer back in late October early November and the camera has never worked. When I click on it on my phone or even my laptop all I see is a black screen. Not sure what the issue is.

Welcome to the forum.

This is a bit of a long shot but there is a cover for the camera on the printer, could it be covering the lense?

Might be obvious but have you pressed the play button to turn on the live view? It will display a black screen otherwise.

Edit * Ah I see you have a P1S so probably familiar with that but I’ll leave this here for people who are new to BL*
