Are you holding off buying a H2D pending the H2C price/release?

I wonder how many BL Customers are frustrated that the H2D is now on sale (which is tempting) - but do not want buyers remorse should the h2C be announced at an attractive price early December?

I think BL should at least provide an update on H2C price to make the decision easier.

H2D and H2C are completely different beasts, no matter what the specs say.
Those skipping the H2D just because the H2C is coming are usually after the newest, flashiest toy — not necessarily the printer that best fits what they actually print.
Of course, if the H2C truly matches your needs, that’s great — but then it’s not about chasing the latest thing, it’s simply that the H2D isn’t the right tool for your job.

After dealing with issues on the h2d i am rethinking a purchase of the h2c. They need time on the market before i trust that induction junk in the nozzles.

Yes I expect there will be a few Vortek teething problems on top of residual H2D issues. I am confident however, the H2C will be a very good investment for multi colour printing in the longer term…

BL now has an impressive leading market position and will make sure this new flagship model is a winner!

It’s a totally unproven technology. I’ve got 1700ish hours on my h2d and after seeing it break in its obvious the design is somewhat immature.

I have 2500 hours on my H2D and it has been smooth sailing. What broke on your H2D?

Immature as in the design needed more iterations.

The mc module overheat issue, i see boards already have a heat sink revision.

The ptfe tubes hit the top of the enclosure and sloughs off excessive material. This material does get in the extruder and find its way into the hot end.

The belt shedding while listed as a non issue does seem concerning.

The TPU guide is lol. ‘Remove the top and hang a spool over it for 85a and under.’ For 90a removing the ptfe tube and sticking it through a cutout makes me think it was an afterthought given the irritation it is to do it.

The extruder gear is a press fitting i had to check for soundness as it is known to prematurely fail.

I have other minor gripes, but when you look at it holistically the unit needs a revision to deal with some of this.

I am having an extruder error i am still trying to trouble shoot that may be software or a design issue.

Thats only if you use 65c instead of the stock 60c, its not a critical error but a warning, does not stop printing. The revision is for the H2S board, not H2D. I plan to take my back cover off to check if the heatsink is seated properly.

Thats pretty standard on all printers, you can bend the PTFE into a shape so it does not touch the top glass. You can also print a riser.

You know any other enclosed printers with better implementation for 85A? You can have a permanent setup for 95/90A TPU with a splitter and permanent tube on the external spool.

Good to hear there are apparently many satisfied H2D users which confirms the enormous potential of the machine(!)
I assume you also had a great unboxing/ initial printing experience?

But a disturbing number of people on this forum have been less fortunate with unresolved print quality issue (z banding, priming tower collapse component failure etc).

I conclude with the H series printers at present, given their complexity when combined with the new AMS, a few teething problems are likely and a bit of work may be necessary.

The H2C Vortek system raises the complexity bar even further…
This will put more pressure on BL quality control and the need to properly verify calibration and performance before being boxed to avoid warranty claims and potential customer dissatisfaction.

65c is standard for bambu abs.

The comparison to competitors doesn’t invalidate my other points. Neither does a makerworld mod.

No problems. You have to understand that the forums are a place where people come with their problems, you dont hear from the silent majority of people that have had no issues. I suspect priming tower problems can be solved with a Kdeavi (or Glacier for PA) plate as they have much better adhesion so it wont be so easy to knock over. I have had zero issues as I use those plates.

Im not trying to invalidate any of your points, im trying to help, and yes sometimes community mods can solve an issue. Some of us whan faced with a problem rather criticize, other like me prefer to try to solve the issue.

At the end of the day there is no perfect printer, but bambu is as close as we get in the consumer field. Try to run a Creality K2 for any extended amount of time especially with TPU and see how much more you appreciate bambu after that.

They are indeed best in market with consumer 3d printers. It is also a newish market that sells machines that are sometimes borderline experimental.

I view them as riding the line between consumer and business class machinery.

Not too offend. But when I do business procurement i try to buy best in class machines. If it was a mimaki I would be having a tech rip it apart as a warranty claim. Obviously the h2d isn’t a $50,000 printer but with the ams units and a laser it is a $5,000 printer. It should be scrutinized as an out of the box solution not in need of improvement.

Bambu often implement good solutions that the community comes up with in new models. Like you said it is a newish industry and things are moving at a fast pace, Im glad to be riding the wave on its forefront crest.

I too am very thankful to be able to print industrial plastics within my workshop with relative ease. If bambu wasnt in the market i doubt i would be 3d printing at home.

I was running creality before (heavily modified, hundreds of dollars)… if today someone offered me one for free, I would not take it as I remember the headaches and dont want them. :joy:

Bambu are pushing innovation instead of the easier path of cost cutting race to the bottom like creality and others. They are trying new things, sometimes that can fail, its the more risky move. Because of that Im willing to support them with my dollars, even if that comes with small teething problems. They are pushing the whole consumer industry forward.

Due to bambu I was also able to move into making ABS/PA items for big commercial clients, so its been a transforming tool for my business and its growth.

I think we are playing a waiting game with patents more then anything honestly. If it wasn’t for patent trolling 3d printers would have been in the consumer market in the 90’s or early 2000’s.
