Artifacts on fillet close to print bed

I’m having problem with fillet “overhang” close to the print bed.

Machine:
BBL A1 with AMS
0.4 mm HS

Settings:

  • BBL A1 0.4
  • 0.20 standard @BBL A1 - all defaults settings
  • Support enabled - Normal auto - Default style
  • Material: BBL PLA & Overture Matte PLA
  • (Both have the same issues across 4 colors tested)

!! The part are “upside down” the face facing up is interfacing with the print bed during print. !!

Anyway to resolve this?

Fillets are a known issue in this respect. You can attempt to combat it with smaller layer height in that area (or variable layer height), and or slower overhang speeds. Also, make sure you are starting with dry filament, PLA isn’t usually an issue but it can be in certain instances iirc.

I believe the best way is to handle it in the design. Chamfers down to ~30 - 40 degrees will print well, some suggest chamfer followed by fillet, it’s all about the start of it, for a fillet the starting angle is going to start very small requiring more overhang to accomplish the curve, then it eases out.

You could also use support, I am guessing that the auto is not doing anything so you could switch to manual and paint it on.
