Assembling previously assembled objects

I am trying to assemble 2 objects, one of them having already been assembled from 4 objects. I am having trouble getting the preassembled item to assemble with the single item. I am designing a wheel bearing cover for a golf cart. I want the 3-color State of Texas logo on top of it.

Any ideas where I am messing up? Texas emblem will not stay on top of the cover when I try to position it. It keeps dropping to the plate.
I am new to 3D printing, got my P1S in January of this year.
Thanks for any help. Much appreciated.

Can you print it upside-down? Then the flag will be on the build plate along woth the other piece?

No, the emblem is raised above the top of the cap by 1mm. Unless I made them all flush but don’t really want to do that if I can help it. I like the raised look.

Look at this video:

Basically, to make an object float, you just group it with a small cube that stays on the buildplate.
