Auto 'popping' the print plate

Many ‘print plates’ seem to feature that ‘spring release’ technique where the plate is bent in the hands and the print pops off.
I would have thought that it wouldn’t be a super hard feature to add where the printer bends the plate (like with a solenoid that forces the center of the plate up a few mils) mechanically and the prints are detached???

Try this for yourself and then let us know how it worked out for you.

Just flexing the centre won’t work for all prints though… you really want to be able to flex from one side of the plate to the other, in both directions… hence getting the hairy armed gorilla to auto pop the plate is IMO the most effective and reliable solution. But hey, if someone can come up with a reliable “auto release” mechanism (and no, I don’t mean a large boot that sweeps the bed and kicks everything off it, perhaps destructively) I won’t complain!

I’ve noticed youtubers ‘popping’ prints by peeling up just one edge of the plate, keeping most of it in place on the bed. I tried it and it works well, without needing to reset the plate in place against the lugs in the back.
Super useful if you don’t have ideal access to the back of the printer.
Just needs to be mechanically done, especially these days with these ‘super tacky’ plates the require almost everything to be ‘popped’.

What if each magnet holding the plate down, was mounted on a solenoid.
Then the magnets could be independently elevated and retracted, and would retain contact with the plate.
A ripple could be sent across the entire plate???

Hay maybe the magnets could also be retracted into the bed, thus breaking contact with the plate, thus making removing the plate easer too

It would probably be easier to build a robotic arm to swap plates. Because some plates require bending in multiple directions and brims stay behind sometimes.
