Auto Turn off?

I recently switched printers. I had a Qidi Tech Max (# 1, its now at #3) back in 2019.

One of the functions i loved of my Max was it had a Auto Turn off feature once the print finished.

I recently switched to the A1 with AMS Lite. Does this have a Auto Turn off? I tend of print things when i am sleeping and i dont like to leave the printer on when its finished.

I had a Creality CR10 Smart and it had a power off option. I found it really handy too.

There currently is no option from Bambu for this.

I use kasa smart plugs for this. Just start your print and then set a timer in the kasa/tapo app to turn the plug off 15 minutes or so after the print’s estimated finish time.
Alternatively, leaving the printer on does no harm. It goes to sleep; no fans, screen off, etc.

You can also get the IKEA ZigBee wall plug.

I use Home assistant and smart plugs to get around this issue. The printer is in LAN mode so home assistant gets some data from it. I have an automation set that when the print status is set to finished/idle and the nozzle temp is below 40c it turns the smart plug off (along with some WLED leds).

better and most easy is smart wall plug for example zigbee

Define the “turn off”.

Currently, when finishes, A1 turn into a sleep/softoff mode. No heat, no fan, no light.

It can not pop out the plug nor using a robot arm to flip the physical switch. But I doubt the Qidi max can do that

Look into the Bigtreetech Panda Power brick, here is the link

If you have the touch screen it’s awesome

i agree, zigbee will be cheapest and simplest solution

My X1C draws about 10W as soon as it has finished printing. That’s not the end of the world, but it’s also unnecessary. It’s a shame that such a function is not simply integrated with POWER OFF.

I also simply use a smart plug. There are now two options:

  1. As already recommended, simply something like Kasa Smart Plug with a set timer for when the socket should switch off or
  2. You use sockets with a built-in electricity meter. This allows you, for example, to create a rule in HomeAssistant (or the manufacturer of the socket itself has an app) that the socket is switched off as soon as only watts Y are drawn for period X.

Wattage < 15W for more than 5 mins = Printer is done, Turn Off.

I would like to shut my A1 down every night, like I do it with my smartphone. Do you think it’s okay when I just click the power button of the A1 on 0?

Yup. The printer doesn’t need any special shut down sequence.
