I’m trying to migrate my Bambu Farm Manager Server data to a dedicated server computer I just set up (I have been running it locally on 1 computer so far) but am having no success. Is this even possible? If not, I do not know how to approach backing up the data going forward either as I don’t have confidence that I could restore it.

After trying to find out how to migrate a farm server installation to a new computer, finding this post without an answer, and trying to make sense of the files in “C:\Program Files\Bambu Farm Manager Server”, I decided to submit a support ticket. I got the answer that server migration is not currently possible at this time.
More generally, I have found the farm manager software to be very useful, but from my prospective as an outsider, it seems like Bambu Lab is not putting a lot of development or marketing effort into it. The software (even in the basic form it now exists in) is one of the key reasons I choose to add more Bambu printers to our network. I would like to encourage them to continue to put resources into developing it and adding basic features like backup and migration tools (presenting information about which users printing tasks belong to would also be very helpful and seems basic and straightforward).
Also (note to forum administrators), if I recall, there was no Farm Manager specific category on this forum on Jun 16th when this thread was created, but now that “forumbambulabcom/c/bambu-lab-software/bambu-farm-manager/174” exists, this post should probably be moved into it.
I ended up running the server software in a virtual machine and backing that up every couple of days. So if my server hardware dies in any way, I can just restore the VM onto a new machine and away I go again. Not exactly an easy solution for less technically inclined people and I’m disappointed that it wasn’t a consideration when they developed the server software. Putting all the time and effort into the hundreds of files on my server without a backup plan was a risk I wasn’t willing to take.
Currently, I am running BFM on Windows 2025 Datacenter Server in a VM on Proxmox. This allows me HA and backup abilities. But an internal backup / migration option would be great.
