Bambu Firmware Bug Reporting Thread

Only way I found is to do a factory reset on the printer. You’ll have to re-run through all the initial calibration again. It’s a real pain in the butt.

Problem: Unskippable extrusion prompt before every print. This never happened before and I never had any issues without it. There needs to be a way to disable it.Firmware Version: 01.08.01.00Printer: Bambu Lab A1Steps to reproduce:

Start any print job.

After a few seconds, the extruder will stop over the filament expulsion mechanism and a prompt screen asking if new filament extruded will appear.

Problem: 0.2mm nozzle feed speeds are very high during “Load Filament” and “Manual Feed”
Firmware Version: 01.08.01.00
Printer: Bambu Lab A1Mini
Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Load a 0.2mm Nozzle into the machine.
  2. Settings→Maintenance→Select 0.2mm Nozzle
  3. Load Filament, Brand: Generic, Type:PETG
  4. Click Load.
  5. Material loads in correctly and then gets to the purge old material step and the extrusion feed speed (as seen by the visible feed indicator) is very. very fast for a small nozzle, resulting in a clicking feed wheel with a un-clogged, lightly used nozzle.
  6. The Load Filament completes successfully.
  7. Subsequent prints happen correctly.
  8. Additionally, the feed speed seems equally fast when manually tapping the Extrude Down button and also results in the feed wheel clicking.

Having same problem. This is going to really be an issue if it can’t be corrected or turned off.
I did noticed with my last test, it is doing a full load filament prior to the print. My guess is that this new firmware is thinking that due to the Ext Filament being used, it needs to load filament everytime.

Hoping for a fix soon, this is really slowing down my printing if I have to be standing at the printer every time to get it to start printing.

Exact same issue here - Bambu Lab A1on version 01.08.01.00 - didn’t happen before the update.

In response to the my 0.2mm extrusion rate bug from Jun 28, I have found that this issue also happens during calibration is Flow Dynamics Calibration is checked. It attempts to extrude at way too high a rate.

Problem: False foreign object errors when using non-Bambu build plate

Firmware Version: 01.02.00.00

Printer: Bambu X2D

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install a BIQU Glacier or Frostbite build plate
  2. Begin a print
  3. Print will stop with a “Foreign objects detected on heatbed” error even with a perfectly clean and clear plate

Log file: n/a

Other information: This issue only started occurring for me with the 1.02 firmware update release

firmware : v1.02 Bambu Lab H2C

Started pad calibration via LCD, at point 5 (autoleveling phase 2) the head hits the left side of the printer at full speed and continues calibration. It does this all the time, which is not normal.

Hi,

When tangle detector is disabled, AND a serious spool tangle occurs, what damage happens to the A1? Does the extruder motor seize up and burn out? Are other components such as filament base, warped and damaged? Is the filament idle arm roller ruined?

Thanks

Problem: In the Middle of the print the A1 resets the Print and displays preparing
Firmware Version: 01.08.01.00
Printer: Bambu Lab A1

Happened a few times with this and i believe the Firmware before.

If you try to continue the Print it won’t.

It is like the Machine was told to reset the Print and start new.

Turning off/on will produce no solution.

You have to discontinue the Print.

Different files, you restart the print after clearing the Board it prints just fine with the same file.

Seems like a Bug in the last Firmware Versions as i didn’t experience this issue before.

Problem: Pause parks the toolhead at increasingly higher Z after each pause — Z motor eventually skips and ruins the print
Firmware Version: 01.08.01.00
Printer: Bambu Lab A1
Steps to reproduce:

  1. Slice a model with ~100 manual pauses or filament changes (no AMS, “Change filament G-code” = “M400 U1”)
  2. Start the print
  3. At each pause, observe that the toolhead parks higher and higher on the Z axis
  4. After enough pauses, the Z axis reaches its physical limit and the Z motor skips/grinds, ruining the whole print

Other information:
No AMS / AMS Lite — single external spool, manual filament changes only.
After each pause the print itself resumes correctly (the toolhead returns in XY to the last position and lowers to the correct layer height). Only the PAUSE-PARK Z height climbs linearly with every pause/resume cycle, so the firmware appears to keep an internal Z that is raised by the park lift and is never reset on resume.
