Same question here! No need for the laser since I already have one.
The store page for the nozzles says “CURRENTLY” can not use two different nozzle sizes. Maybe that will change?

Now that the final specs have been published, has anyone thought it odd that the elephant in the room Wi-FI-only has been ignored? It’s like they simply aren’t listening.
On the other subject of a combined laser cutter and 3D Printing. Is this something that anyone actually wants? Don’t get me wrong, it seems like an interesting idea but the notion of having a standalone system without a well thought out ducting solution seems like an oversite.
The last question to ponder:
Who would be customer for this?
- Missing Ethernet connectivity – so many Enterprises will forbid this from their environment because of cyber security concerns.
- Ambiguous ventilation for the laser cutter – so unless they document a solution, forget about Enterprise-class customers adopting this anytime soon until they can be assured that there is some kind of environmental solution that would stand up to OSHA and other regulatory scrutiny for safe operation in a production setting.
Conclusion
This still seems to be targeted to the 3D printer enthusiast and not to the manufacturing environment. I am unclear on who the actual audience is. On one hand, nobody has married a laser marking/cutting system with a 3D printer. This could be Bambu Lab’s iPOD moment with a breakout technology… or… it could be their Zune. Only time will tell. Let’s see if Dr Tao is Jobs or Gates.
That seems correct, this is also what their marketing suggests. In production you want more smaller machines because it is quicker and you want dedicated machines. This however seems like a machine that is a do-it-all when you need it. Expensive, premium, but somewhat complete? I wouldn’t buy one (to be honest, I have never bought a 3D printer), but I can see the appeal for some people
What puzzles me is the apparent lack of due diligence in addressing what will become a safety issue. Laser cutting wood or metal is one thing, but laser cutting plastic introduces a far more serious concern due to the toxic fumes and ongoing outgassing of cooling cut plastic surfaces. This isn’t just a minor hazard like molten filament; we’re dealing with an entirely different level of toxic vapor exposure as cut plastic cools. Unless I missed it in their product literature, Bambu will need to address these safety concerns.
I think there will be warnings about materials? But yes, I suppose you would be able to shove PVC plastic in the machine and tell Bambu that it is cork. But then again, you could put asbestos filament in your printer (not saying that is just as likely, but just that stupid people will do stupid things).
In the CNC kitchen video there is an exhaust hose connected to the machine, you can drop this outside to poison the neighbors or hook it up to an optional filtration/purifier system (timecode embedded):
But yeah, we have to wait to know how good the filtration actually is.
Hope Bambu Lab will offer a basic H2 version just for dual extrusion printing, with other features as optional add-ons. This way, people like me can access dual extrusion more easily.
I’m hoping Thomas Sanladerer will make a video about all the safety and things (assuming I don’t die of fumes before he releases it!)
Me. I’m the customer for the H2D.
Might surprise you to know this. Well, not Olias, because Olias has me blocked, but to anyone else that isn’t head in the sand. There are customers and a market for this printer.
It is for tumblers. On the product page they show it.
They already do. Just don’t buy the laser one. In June the non-combo option will be available.
Personally I’d like to just add the cutter attachment as well.
You’ve got a lot of snitches that need stiches, I see.
I was a little shocked when I saw your post in the ordering thread. I thought for sure Bambu would have given an H2D to their big creator accounts.
After watching the video and reading through the features and specs, I would say BL makes a convincing case for this new printer system, even for someone like me who has never considered doing engraving and cutting.
Now I would like to see if the engraving and cutting operations can gum up the gears and how it affects 3D printing. The presentation mentioned cooling and filtering. I want to see if these are enough in real usage.
All in all, it looks like a great system.
Can you use an AMS 2 on both hot ends simultaneously with the H2D?
Is there a hub to hook up two AMS 2’s on the same hot end?
So you would print half a pair of arm-restrainers. Drop the arms of the snitch in mid print and wait to finish the restrainer so the snitch is confined nicely. Then you can swap for the plotter to start slashing away to administer the pre-stitch damage?
You might even use the laser to leave your mark so everybody knows who is responsible and nobody will ever mess with you again?
That goes too far Josh.
Too far…
Yeah, at that pricepoint and given I’m interested in 3d printing only, I’m out. I could buy 3 of P1S combo and pump out more prints at the same time.
