Bambu H2D Full Reveal – Everything You Need to Know!

The laser side is the part I’m a noob on. I think a few people here have done well to explain the reality of what a laser cutter entails. I imagine for people that do a lot of laser cutter stuff, they’d probably look elsewhere to dedicated units, as the fumes/grime is obviously something that needs to be dealt with and managed.

The key part there though as you said was “for more people to experiment with” And this is the part that excites me. I have my limited space, but I can get myself that laser H2D and get some experimenting done. If I decide it’s something I went to delve into, I can look at getting a dedicated unit and what that’d require of me.

Maybe I’m a bit of a fanboy. I think more so though I just like exploring and playing. The printers haven’t hit the consumers yet though, so how all of this pans out is purely speculation. I think it’s a bit of a curve ball from left field (did I use that saying right??), but I’m gonna keep an open mind about it.

I’ve been interested in laser engraving and cutting for as long as I’ve been doing 3d printing. I’m using this as an excuse to dip my toes. The whole of my situation makes the H2D a good choice for dipping my toes with.

If you think I’m cra cra, then maybe you’re in Portland and can invite me over to play with your dedicated unit. I can already hear MalcTheOralce typing up a response! I’m talking about a laser engraver!

I only realized now that you’re the designer of that awesome looking Card Shuffler (among many other cool looking designs). The hardware kit was included when I got my A1 Combo but I have yet to print the model  Can’t wait to try out your CyberBrick stuff as well, soon™.

That will work (25 characters)

Wait, you guys still didn’t put a hardwire gigabit Ethernet port on your $2500 machine?

What’s wrong with you?

On the website it says that the AMS and AMS 2 will work simultaneously on the H2D but, I have a P1S and an AMS if I buy an AMS 2 and/or AMS HT will it work the same?

Maybe they’ll make a LAN adapter in the future

I currently have 2 old AMS and 1 AMS 2 Pro hooked up to an X1C and it’s working fine. No control over the drying function on the new AMS but that is supposed to come later with a firmware update. I imagine it will work just fine on the P1S.

If I buy just one AMS 2 to go with my original AMS will I still have to purchase the AMS 2 Pro upgrade kit (minus the fact i’ll still need an AMS buffer)or is that only if I want to dry while printing?

You will need some type of a filament hub to use two AMS. The easy way is to buy the AMS Hub from Bambu. But you already have the filament buffer that takes in one PTFE tube so you could add this in front of the buffer to enable adding more than 1 AMS: Bambu 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter | Bambu Lab USA Store

I don’t think you need the other things in the upgrade kit if you’re not going to use drying.

There was no one at the 1500$ machine either, do you think that had anything to do with the amount of the printer?

Yes, they will work together but you will need to power the AMS independently.

seriously? wired LAN? (checks watch) what year are we in? I think they made an educated guess with regard to needed/desired specs and wired ethernet was on last decade’s list.

I could be wrong but I believe for a businesses it’s safer then having a broadcasted network.

Its the one thing that keeps the x1e relevant, for a reason. I kinda joked that this would happen. It was the only way i could see the h2d being under $2500 for the stripped down model

This is thing has so much. It’s a laser cutter, cricut machine and a 3d printer in one!

In what universe is a motor cycle helmet inadequate for a bicycle? They need to be stronger in all ways.

I think the main problem, which you do mention, is filament and print settings. However I assume the safely certification will use a specific print profile and filament type.

Is the difference between the X1 carbons 3d printing speed for 1 colour to H2D’s printing speed for 1 colour a big difference? How much faster is the X1 Carbon then H2D in single colour prints?. If I was primarily to single colour prints would I choose X1C or H2D?

The H2D is faster at 1,000 mm/s max speed. The toolhead is heavy though so you’re not gonna get good results at that speed, you’ll have to slow it down to avoid excessive smoothing.
