Having been unable to read a new message type, the app told me to update to the latest version.
The latest version includes all the changes to points and the introduction of the ‘boost’ feature which I imagine will not be enjoyed by most users, although I can’t comment until it has had time to be used correctly.
The UI Problem
The Me tab is used to provide a top level view of your stats.
- Following
- Followers
- Likes
- Points
Now that last one Points has been removed from hat summary display and requires you press the caption Boost/Points which replaces the numeric actual points value to move to the secondary detail screen before your points are actually shown.
Old Way
New Way
(I have not disclosed my real points value)
Annoyance
It now takes a click and delay (to load next screen) to see the points value than it did before.
It now takes two clicks separated by two delays (one to load the next screen, one to load transactions) to view the transactions.
Solution
There was no need to do this, the points could and should have stayed where it was and the Limited-Time Offer caption moved to the next window and replaced by the new caption Points/Boosts.
The Limited-Time Offer caption doesn’t need to be on this screen as it doesn’t inform the user of any valuable without context that is actually offered in the points system notes (which whilst not placed in the most obvious location nor with the most obvious icon) it does provide details. I can see some benefit to adding on the screen that displays when you press the old points & new boost/points button though.
Your Thoughts
What do you think, a good change or an avoidable and unnecessary change as I believe?
This is NOT a discussion about the merits of caring or not caring about the points system, it is only about the change in UX due to the new UI.
Seems fine on iOS… I mean pretty clean now honestly
You’re fine with the extra unnecessary steps vs the old way or the suggestion I made which would be the best of both worlds?
The screenshots are from the iPad (old & new versions of app) and the iPhone version is the same as the screenshots I provided.
I’m honestly not fine with a majority of their actions but when they’re in control of the platforms man, there isn’t much we can do. I love to “complain” as many state when I suggest things but I’m coming with the fact that this isn’t about us.
It’s their business and it’s gonna be operated and designed by them… I’ve been saying the UI on my X1C is a permanent advertisement for something I clearly know about. Yet why can’t we upload our own background? it’s all them. We’re pawns my guy. So yes I agree it’s trash and could be better. But the Lead Developer said that looks good send it.
It sounds like you would have been great in meetings with my team of app devs when trying to focus on the only important people ‘the users’ of the app.
My former life, too ill to move these days so had to shut the company down. I still miss the days of writing & designing solutions focused on others.
3D printing is the only thing I can achieve in my last months.

I’ve been digging myself a deeper hole on MakerWorld interacting with other designers. It’s wild man.
As a current business owner when we started this, we didn’t want to be like the hundreds of others that simply print farm and sell on etsy. I actually have a career which involves peoples lives based on my skills and talents.
I know you care man and I could tell by the post. But as a fellow person that cares a little too much honestly… The good guys never win and it’s clear within the bambu community.
That is simply not true. Look at the all the content creators on Makerworld with the Green checkmark. Those are not people gaming the system. Those are people who put out high quality content and are rewarded as such.
