Bambu Handy won't display video on iPhone or iPad

I’m running Bambu Handy version 2.11.0 updated 13 June 2024. Prior to this upgrade I could view my X1C’s printing progress on my iPhone and iPad, but not since upgrading to 2.1.1.0. I also have an ancient Samsung Android tablet, which once I installed Handy, displayed the desired video.
The iPhone and iPad are both running the latest Apple software.
When I click on the arrow to activate the video, a spinning asterisk lasts for a minute or two then I see an error message.
In all other respects, Handy is working, eg printing layer numbers are displayed, percentage completed, temperatures, fan speed, etc
What can I do to activate the video?

I am having sort of a similar problem, I could watch prints on my X1C from iPad, iPhone and PC all at the same time, now I get an error about watching “more than 4, please consider closing one out” to be able to watch the prints. I’m only watching on one or two tablets or PCs, sometimes it won’t work at all

Ditto about “more than 4” error (-22) while only 1 other is actually watching. It seems like stale/disconnected sessions are not being cleaned up ie a bug. When current print finishes, I’ll power cycle the printer and see if that cleans it up.

That should do the trick, I was getting frustrated

Yap, power cycling the printer (X1C) did seem to clear the issue. One or more of us should submit a firmware bug report.

Having same issue but recycling doesn’t clear
Video works fine on android and a Mac desktop using studio

IPad here and I’ve never gotten video in Handy. I powered off and back on but haven’t tried deleting and reinstalling. When I got the printer I thought I’d be able to monitor printing without having to go physically check, but no joy.

With so many having to go through gyrations to be able to see video I can’t help but think there is a just a fundamental problem in Handy.

I’ve deleted and reinstalled it about 4 times on iPad and iOS still no joy
At first I thought it was my firewall but nope android works

Yep. I have a complicating issue in that I run a local DNS service to block trackers, malware sites, etc. It could be that is what is preventing video for me so I haven’t pushed it. Only thing is Windows can see the video stream fine even behind another firewall while my iPad is on the same network and doesn’t have to pass traffic through a firewall.

I do think it’s something with Handy but don’t know that.

I run an ad blocker too disabled it still issue , changed my dns to different still issue
And my laptop with studio works fine using same Adblock dns

This issue was resolved when Bambu Support responded to a support ticket. The solution posted by support was to open a mobile hotspot on my iPhone, log into thehot spot on my iPad then run handy. It worked, and when I exited the hotspot and opened Handy on my normal WiFi network, it worked jere also. I suspect there was a glitch like a cache of an earlier instance of Handy which was cleared when using the hotspot

This solution works I’ve had to do a few times
Connecting to a vpn also works to reset the cache

If your videos aren’t playing on your iPhone, don’t worry—it’s one of those things that happens from time to time, but it’s usually fixable with a few simple tricks. First, let’s check if it’s a particular video that’s acting up or if it’s all videos. If it’s just one, it might be corrupted or improperly downloaded, which means it might not be an iPhone issue at all. Try streaming it again or re-downloading it if you can.
Now, if it’s all videos, let’s start with something simple—restarting your iPhone. You’d be surprised how often a quick restart solves these random issues. Sometimes the software just needs a little refresh, and restarting can help clear out any minor glitches.

Another thing that might be causing the problem is your internet connection. If you’re streaming videos, a weak Wi-Fi or cellular signal can be the culprit. Try switching to a different network, or if you’re on Wi-Fi, toggle it off and back on again to see if that helps.
Sometimes, the issue can also be related to the app you’re using. If you’re watching on a third-party app like YouTube or Netflix, there could be a bug in the app itself. Updating the app from the App Store might do the trick. And, if that doesn’t help, deleting the app and reinstalling it often clears out any funky bugs that could be causing the playback issues.

I had same problem watching video in Bambi Handy on iPhone. It worked from outside when phone was not in wlan but not at home… The reason was that in settings local network the Bambu Handy had been disabled🙈
After enabling it works perfect. Maybe this hint could help someone…
