Hello, I’m about to buy a Bambu Lab A1, but I would like to know if it is possible when printing a piece that has more than 4 colors to be able to change the 5th color manually?
Out of the box, that’s not supported, as the AMS hub on top of the printhead only has 4 fittings for the 4 AMS slots. However, you could try replacing the filaments in the AMS slots while printing, but this would require some manual preparation.

While you are printing, can you remove the rollers that are no longer being used and add another color?
How can we exchange a fifth color of lab a1 bamboo? Can anyone help? I made a printout and the first color didn’t stick to the light box
Yes, you can.
I have printed with 6 colors on A1 Mini.
Just add a pause on the slicer, and change the spool.

Indeed, you’ll need some creativity to add color to your prints and remember that the color assigned to a slot may change over time. You have the option to manually switch out any spool that’s not in use. Additionally, as @robomello mentioned, you can insert a pause command at a specific layer. To do this, scroll to the desired layer on the preview screen in Bambu Studio using the left slider, then right-click on the slider and select ‘add pause’. You should even receive a push notification when the printer pauses.

But for that to happen, I needed one to be 0.6mm tall and not change the color layer by layer?
That will not work. The printer prints each color per layer.
Not possible. How’s it going to know where to print? The ams only has four colors the machine reconizes. I know it doesn’t see colors but if it’s blacks turn to print and you pause and print pink. How does it know where pink is? Would it print where black is and not where pink is?
