Hello everyone, I am waiting for the delivery of my A1 with AMS lite, but since I am away for work, I will have to wait to see it. In the meantime, I wanted to design a plexiglass box to enclose it when it’s not in use to prevent dust accumulation. Could you please tell me the dimensions it occupies considering the movement of the plate and the AMS on the side? Thanks

It seems, that the diagram in the FAQ has been changed.
Bambu requires now 14cm from the most rear print bed edge to the wall:

I don’t see any reason why the additional 8cm are needed as the cable in the diagram looks that it’s just using 6cm of room.
As I have a hard stop and every cm counts I would be very glad if a proud owner of an A1 could be so kind and measure the shortest distance from the front feet to the wall behind the A1 suitable.

605mm is definitely needed if you don’t want the cable hitting whatever you have behind the printer.
Edit: 605 from wall to front of printer base (basically desk space)… then the bed also will travel 80mm more forward from the front of the printer base.
Hi everyone,
I’m considering putting an A1 in an existing cabinet and I’d like to make sure it will fit properly.
The cabinet has about 85 cm internal width × 65 cm internal depth × 65 cm internal height. The 65 cm depth is measured from the back wall to the inside of the closed door.
I’ve seen different figures for the A1’s required depth, including 545 mm, 605 mm, and the recommendation to leave around 140 mm behind the heatbed.
My main concern is the heatbed cable when the bed is fully moved to the back.
For A1 owners: is 65 cm total depth enough to close the cabinet door without putting any stress on the cable? If possible, could someone share their actual measurements ?

At 65cm you would not be able to do all 3: 1) close the door 2) cables clear the back wall when plate is fully back 3) plate’s lip not hit the door when fully front. You need about 3-5cm more to clear everything.
Here’s some pics for positioning of both bed full back, full front, and the cable bundle’s clearance. This example has 20cm between the rear of the printer’s body and the wall, and the cable bundle only barely clears the wall, 5mm-ish, and leaves the total space at about 69.5cm.
IMO no, but your appetite for risk on that cable bundle is up to you. Slapping the back with the cord is probably not a good idea, even with the armored braid. On a print that uses the front of the plate, it will happen hundreds of times an hour, wear will occur. You could store it closed, but print open. idk
…and as we can see in your photos:
Put some mats underneath if space is tight; otherwise, during a 12-hour print, the printer tends to shift about 5 cm in any direction due to the vibrations. If there’s not much room to begin with and the printer is moving, it might end up crashing into the door.
