I recently bought the A1 mini. With your recommendation, combined with my MIRACO 3D scanner, I was able to achieve freedom of movement, scan and print some small crafts. The whole workflow was very smooth, and I think it was a very interesting thing. I really like the ease of use of the A1 mini. I also used it to print many times.
But there is a small problem that needs your help. I can’t use it to connect to my WiFi. I did the following settings and troubleshooting, but none of them worked. I am very confused. 2.4Ghz frequency band; Other devices can connect, and there is no problem with the network; Restarting the A1 and the router does not work;
Do you have a good solution? I will be grateful for your help
The A1 mini uses an Espressif ESP32 chip for wifi and bluetooth - this chip has a tiny onboard antenna which limits its effective range. An external antenna would probably work better (looking at you Bambu Labs)
anyway , I also had issues connecting my A1 mini by wifi - I moved the mini closer to my router (less than 8 feet) and the connection problems stopped.
Operating in a shop setup with decently thick walls (insulated & Drywalled) with interference from other devices, I can tell you that I still achieve 3 bars 90% of the time from over 50+ Feet which sometimes becomes 2 bars but only ever had 1 instance of trouble which bambu inspected logs on a P1P which they claimed had a dead wifi board and replaced it which everything has been pretty good since.
But I wouldn’t expect to see any degrading connections unless you were more than 50 or so feet. You’d have to look up the board specifically on the ESP site and see what they specify the distance. If you’re not seeing the SSID from your router at all I’d look up the (Bambu Labs Ports) and make sure you have them open within your router under [Port Forwarding]
Thanks for the reply - however people do have problems with wifi connection and my mini struggled at a range of less than 20 feet with only one dry wall between the printer and the router. As mentioned, the problem stopped when the printer was within 10 feet of the router with no walls. I know from using ESP32’s in my projects that some have better wifi range than others - luck of the draw I guess. The SSID on mine was always visible just could not connect
First of all, thank you. I have checked my SSID, but I can connect when I try to get closer to the router, so it should not be a problem with the wifi board.
I have had the same problem. All my devices worked except the A1.
Moving the A1 closer to the access point didn’t help.
I have a couple of older Proxim AP-4000M enterprise access points, configured for 802.11bg with WPA-PSK.
I tried playing around with settings, enabling 802.11bg “super mode”, enabling 802.11d, and enabling 802.11i-PSK. After that, it worked. Maybe it likes 802.11i-PSK, though I’m not even sure that works without a Radius server configured.
I was also not able to connect the A1 mini and my WiFi. After looking around with google it turns out that the SSID must contain of only characters not numbers. After changing my SSID the printer was able to connect to my WLAN.
