Hey,
I am new to 3d Printing and trying to understand what the printer does and why.
One Thing in particular, I do Not understand. At beginning of a Print, the a1 prints 2 lines at the Front of the Print bed, but they dont Look right.
Could this be an Indikator that some Print settings are wrong ?
I Print with Bambu Lab Basic PLA White at 215°C.
This started happening to me after my maitenance day on weekend. I did:
- replaced heatbed
- updated bambustudio
- updated printer firmware
And noticed this kind of lines (before they were longer and separate). Right now I suspect firmware problem.

My A1 does this with every print. I assume it’s part of the normal print start process. I usually don’t have brim turned on so maybe this is the A1’s way of ensuring filament is ready for the start of the printing.
Those are the so called “purge lines”. The are used to prime the nozzle to make sure the filament flows smoothly before the actual printing start.
The look in your picture comes from the most recent firmware update. Prior to this the lines looked neater. When I first saw the new lines I thought something was wrong with my A1.
In my Case there seems Something to be wrong (Like stated in an other thread), there is a constant flow of Pla Out of the nozzle, even when ideling. With Basic PLA @205°C and 1.3mm retraction while driving to the Site and Back for picture (Video of Print Feature) there is a 1cm Long String of Pla under the nozzle. And then this is Glued to the Print in next layer.
Makes many Problems for me.
Even occurs without Video capturing.
I’m having with problem with my new A1 with the 1cm of filament hanging and getting smudged into print did you figure this out ?
