Bambu lab A1 with AI Failure Detection

So first I was thinking to get the X1C just because the AI failure detection , but I decided to get the A1 and figure out how to enable AI Failure Detection , so I have Raspberry pi and a pi camera and I added an octoprint then I enable a plugin specially for bambu lab printers .

the plugin

this plugin allow you to print through bambu studio and octoprint will get all printing data , then you can choose which AI Failure Detection you want there’s many options

Here are the ones that I found so far:

· [OctoEverywhere] (https://octoeverywhere.com/)

· [Obico] (https://www.obico.io/)

· [Printwatch] (GitHub - printpal-io/OctoPrint-PrintWatch)

· [Nexus AI] (GitHub - mikulash/Octoprint-detector2: Octoprint-Detector2 is a detection plugin that runs in locally your browser and emails you if it detects some spaghetti, stringing or blobs on your print. All you need is an email account and a PC.)

· [OctoPrint-Detector2] (GitHub - mikulash/Octoprint-detector2: Octoprint-Detector2 is a detection plugin that runs in locally your browser and emails you if it detects some spaghetti, stringing or blobs on your print. All you need is an email account and a PC.)

I’m test Obico and OctoEverywhere , both works but Obico better

Does it pause the printing in case of failure detection?

yes , you can choose either notify you or pause

I know Obico; I used it with Klipper, and it works well.
But, to control the printer, as in case of stoppage, I needed to grant permission.

So, what surprised me was the ability to set up such a feature in a BL printer.

Edit: are you running the self-hosted server in the pi or relying on their paid service?

Guessing here, but it’s submitting files via FTP, and sending controls via MQTT, both of which have authentication.

By the way I send files through bambu studio to the printer , not to octoprint , you can send it to octoprint .

it work on all bambu printers

Wow! This is great! Been looking for a solution just like this.

I wonder if you could setup to just use the original low-rate camera?

Looks cool. Sorry if I missed this in the discussion already, if the A! fung poop lands on the build plate, will the detection trigger it as a possible failed print?

no , i did try to add poop and did not detect it until i added 10 poop

no way , but i think maybe it can work with ip camera

So, are you starting the print from OctoPrint, or are you sending and starting from Bambu Slicer? I’m having an issue where starting the print from OctoPrint, it just fails immediately.

sending and starting from Bambu Slicer

Where did you find that camera arm and Pi camera mount? I’ve been searching and cannot seem to find them anywhere.
