I think that the tool head may have some sort of wedge that acts as a stopper for the feed gears to push them farther apart
Yall better get ready for the customer service return drama if you launch a 2.85mm filament in 2026. There were some smarter people who were trying to push 2.2mm flex [so that it would fit thru all the existing 2.5mm ID tubing in the world, scrunch into roughly 1,75mm gear width when pinched, just needed a nozzle with a slightly larger inlet, etc]
Bambu markets to the apple crowd of unthinkers, mobile phone gratification addicts, the error rate for people buying the wrong filament size is gonna be insane lol, please post metrics
They seem to be trying to guard against at least some of that with the FlexFeed branding - they are clearly trying to designate specific feed routes for these filaments.
I agree and think its actually a good idea [diameter++ for flex] but omg they have an actual install base of millions of people with 1.75mm filament paths and a culture of ābuy bambu filaments onlyā who are gonna just throw that into cart and hit ok
The amount of people who have never touched cad or a slicer and just print from their phone (99% chance itās an iPhone lol) is crazy. They also seem to get very annoyed when someone tells them to use a slicer to resize models and stuff.
Its not a full toolchanger. Its a nozzle changer that we are praying can preheat the nozzles from the dock.
If itās keeping is own filament in each nozzle with its own ptfe and without having to extract and purge then itās close enough. The only thing it apparently is not changing is the drive gear so Iām not sure what about that doesnāt count.
Doubt it will, its going to be like indx and use induction from what I see at the very end of the toolhead where it interlocks with the nozzle.
To be fair, this is no difference from people who have never touched a sewing machine and just buy their clothes from the stores.
99% or whatever == non-iOS (letās face it, they meant android) users that own Bambu must be overwhelmingly smart.
Just pure āsame tribe as me must be smartā bubble fallacy of the most foolish caliber.
they havent announced the P3C yet soo
A full toolchanger can preheat the nozzles. Kills 5-12 seconds for every single nozzle swap. It can easily cut hours off prints with only 2 filaments(main and support). For prints with multiple swaps per layer, it can cut the time in half.
INDX is also not a toolchanger. Its a nozzle swapper.
I still have a sliver of hope here
Gotcha. Thanks. Well thereās still worse things then. At least the induction heating method is faster than not having that.
Nah, we just donāt want to waste time in our lives fixing some thing should just work!![]()
I had a tiny bit of hope that the docks also had a way of heating the induction nozzles. Its starting to just look like indx with an ams. Another half step sadly. Also looking like its designed with one tpu in mind. Awesome for new buyers that only want bambu. Im waiting for the misplaced indx hype to die down and watching snapmaker
