Bambu PETG not recognized by AMS

Just received my new spools of BL PETG and the AMS doesn’t recognize the RFID. Am I missing a firmware upgrade? Bambu Handy says everything is current. Is Bambu late to release an update?

my ams did the same thing. I unplugged the wire from the back of AMS and when I plugged it back in it reread the RFID and worked that time

That can be frustrating. Have you tried checking for a firmware upgrade? Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues. If Bambu Handy is saying everything is current, it’s possible that they haven’t released an update yet. It can be a bit disappointing when updates are delayed, but these things can happen. Maybe you could reach out to Bambu and inquire about the update release schedule? Hopefully, they’ll be able to provide some helpful information or assistance. Hang in there!

I figured out one issue was I didn’t have all the new filament selected in the “Set filaments to use” location. But I’m still getting misreads from the RFID. I didn’t try the unplug/plug scenarion on the AMS. I’ll try that today and report back.

I have the same problem. Unplugging the AMS’ didn’t help. I am running the latest software on the X1C’s and the AMS’. I can assign the PETG HF on the Prepare page buy not on the Device page.

I honestly don’t remember. I use very little Bambu filament today, but I haven’t noticed any issues recently.

I would be more concerned about the filament profile not showing up instead of the AMS assignment. Unless you’re manually altering the K value. You’ll only loose usage tracking if it’s not registering correctly.

AMS assignment just guarantees you have the correct filament in the correct slot to prevent errors. Manually pic the filament.

If you can assign it in the prepare tab, what is it mapped to when you try to print?

It isn’t mapped correctly can you click the little drop down arrow under “PETG” and select the right slot?

It maps it correctly, but it still shows a Question Mark and is colored white.

I had this same issue. There was a little popup at the bottom right of the screen in Bambu Lab, and it said something like “*the configuration can now be updated”. I clicked on that little box, and it updated for about 10 seconds. After that, the PETG-HF magically appeared in the options for filament (along with support for ABS, which also wasn’t there before). Hope that might help someone.
