I have used both filaments and see little difference visually. Is the durability of Bambu PLA basic equal to eSun PLA+. I supply clipboards for charity at cost and want to be sure the Bambu filament is up to the task ……. (I am new to Bambu receiving my P2S in late December)

eSun has its own PLA basic, so I would assume that eSun PLA+ is stronger than Bambu PLA Basic. I also have both. Bambu PLA Basic isn’t bad in terms of durability, but the PLA+ would be at least a slight bit better.
I also own both, and agree they seem similar. I hope someone can actually offer comparison because I have tried searching for one in the past and didn’t find anything that seemed to discuss it. So while I have nothing constructive or useful to answer your question I am hoping to hear any answer you receive!
PLA likes to melt in cars, even in temperate climates. Bambu’s website recommends ASA or PC for this application. Best 3D Printing Filament for Outdoor Use | Bambu Lab UK (or PETG-HF if you do not need rigidity and want to keep the price down)
The other question is that factory-made clipboards are turbo cheap in bulk, and if you’re printing to get a speciflc label or shape I would just buy a crate of clipboards from China and print attachments for them. Or you can just buy sheet wood and cut it.
EDIT To answer your question, esun pla+ is very similar to bambu basic pla. Regular eSun pla is not rigid. I assume you have also checked the appropriate data sheets for the materials?
I have tried both also then I tried the Sunlu PLA+ 2.0 which has turned out better than both, well presented, already dry and good interlayer adhesion, up till now does not crack when dropped like some pla. Would probably change shape in a very hot car like all PLA.
Best of all its cheaper too, I get mine next day from amazon that frequently have good offers, today its €27.99 for two rolls. The only downside is the basic colour choices and refills are more expensive than with spooled.
Usually ABS/ASA is the same or similar price on Amazon, even cheaper with offers 1kg roll the spool does not fit in the AMS
I use both and seem similar. The 3 I cycle through are Bambu Basic, eSun PLA+, and VoxelPLA. I had liked Sunlu for a while then I started running into issues with some spools so I decided against it.
The bulk of what I use is Bambu unless I can’t get a color I want or things are out of stock. eSun are cardboard rolls that I rip the sides off and put on printed spools. VoxelPLA can be a pain at times with shipping delays in the past so usually use them last (they recommend on the Bambu Tough profile).
I would also love to see someone’s write up if they have an in-depth analysis.
I use both eSun and BambuLab, and I have to say that BambuLab is undoubtedly much better. Unfortunately, the color I need is often out of stock on the BambuLab Store, and I’m forced to buy from eSun. However, my planes turn out as well with BambuLab filaments as they do with any other filament. Therefore, I’m always waiting for a bundle to purchase in stock from the Bambu Store at a reasonable price, because it’s objectively a bit more expensive than competitor filaments.
