Bambu, please fix build plate detection for the Super Tack plate

Today, I screwed up. I was switching between printing PETG-HF on the new Super Tack plate and TPU 95A HF on the Textured PEI plate as I iterated on designs for some parts.

I finalized a design for some grooved bumper pads to be printed with TPU 95A HF, hit print, and left to run some errands. But I forgot to swap out the Super Tack plate for the Textured plate after removing the last print. I came home to find the TPU parts absolutely bonded to the Super Tack plate. The parts had to be ripped off with pliers, and the bond was so strong it destroyed the super tack coating.

This is entirely my fault, I realize that. But if build plate detection worked for the super tack plate, then this would never have been an issue in the first place. When I first got the Super Tack plate, build plate detection was enabled, and I could not get anything to stick to it because my X1C would not recognize the plate. Something about that step failing would set the wrong height offset for the first layer, and nothing would print as a result. After contacting Bambu support, they recommended I disable build plate detection, so I did.

Now I’m paying the price.

Bambu, when will build plate detection work for the cool plate super tack?

This is the first thing I thought of when I saw that caveat for SuperTack.

It was sold out for me anyway, but maybe I won’t even bother trying it until this issue is addressed with some safeguards! It’s going to keep happening to people.

Yeah. I had even made a mental note to double check the right plate was installed. But between some fire I had to put out at work and other distractions it just skipped my mind.
