If I create* a 3MF object file in MS 3D Builder, containing a single object (no matter how simple or complex that object may be)
I open the 3MF file in Bambu Studio
I slice it and send it to print (you don't actually need to send to print, but this still happens)
Then go to Home in Bambu Studio and start a new project - and Bambu Studio decides all by itself to save the current project overwriting my original work, there is no requester dialogue asking to save the file, the file format is NOT compatible with my other products so I cannot open and change anything.
Further: Bambu Studio when told to export as generic 3MF saves in some wierd format of 3MF and the object is still not available to me to edit, instead I have to load the project into Orca and save as generic 3MF from there, Orca reports all kinds of ‘enhancements’ to the 3MF that it does not support but will throw away (thankfully!)
This is a serious bug in Bambu Slicer!
It saves/overwrites files despite the autosave option having been disabled!
Please, do not suggest I learn another, complicated, possibly expensive, product to overcome a problem that only exists in Bambu Slicer. That is only a workaround not a solution.
The correct answer is to fix the problem within Bambu Studio, as that is where the problem exists
