Bambu spool interlock loosened in dryer?

This ABS Bambu spool fell apart when I was taking it out of the dryer. It has been drying while printing for 8+ hours, the spool was also tried overnight the night before.

Interlocks aren’t broken or deformed. This is a filament with spool order, so either it wasn’t fully snapped in at the factory or 65C 8+ hours trying while turning somehow loosened the interlocks. Probably a combo of factors.

I can’t get the two halves back on, even if I am able to put it back together the filament is probably tangled up like a mess. Double check yours.

That’s why I’m using the shims.

I second the shim suggestion, the dark spools are a really tight clip though and I actually find them hard to get fully clicked in. The shims act in two ways, they lock the mechanism plus they won’t go in unless the spool halves are fully engaged.

Something like this? Bambu Spool Lock or shim UPDATED Remixed by J.lifer - MakerWorld

Yes these, they are easy to print out. I suggest a brim as they tend to come loose when printed in numbers.
