Bambu Studio 1.7.7.89 Bed Plate Text is Blacked Out

When working in Bambu Studio (v 1.7.7.89) with an X1C, the “text” with the Bambu logo, QR Code and plate type is blacked out. I have another X1C (at another location) also using Bambu Studio (v 1.7.7.89) and this same info displays without an issue. Both PCs are running Windows 10 64 bit. Any ideas?

Is it a clean install or upgrade? Those images are missing so try a reinstall.

Hi! It was an upgrade from 1.7.7.88 which was for a whopping 24 hours before .89 came out because of the “hot” bed plate warning issue). I will try a reinstall.

Update: reinstalled the 1.7.7.89 update and issue remains.

Is it blacked out for all plates and all models?

Yes it is. If I change the plate in Prepare or Preview, the black box resizes, so it is evident that it knows the plate changes, it just seems like the issue is with the actual text/font. The X1C scans and confirms the plate without an issue. I loaded a different plate in the printer and it did alert me that the plate in the printer did not match the plate in the sliced model. It appears to be some sort of “display” issue with the plate labels within Bambu Studio. I have come accustomed to seeing the plate name in BS when I am placing objects/slicing - I just have to be sure to double check in the dropdown to be sure I have what I want.

Kind of looks like it is “redacted”, maybe I should move my PC into a SCIF!

If it’s a windows installation for both printers see if you can locate the pictures in the folders for the one that works. Then copy and paste them into the same folder for the one that don’t work. You may need a jump drive to do it

Thanks for the suggestion, I will give that a shot!

UPDATE: I found the bed image files in the Resources folder and have copied them from the “working” application. I will paste them into the “malfunctioning” application on Thursday. I will let you know how it works out. Thanks again!

Copying bbl bed image files to the PC with the issue did not work. I installed BS on another PC at the office and it works fine. The issue is with just this one PC.

Well, that’s all I got then. Maybe a support ticket is in order.

Thanks for trying! I submitted a ticket this morning. The “graphics” that show on the bed plate in BS are generated from .svg files; weird thing is if I double click on any of the .svg files the graphic image opens perfectly in whatever browser I am running, it just gets blacked out in BS, Hopefully they will have an answer.

I am having the same issue black out on the build plates. Have you heard anything from support. I am running 1.8.4.51 bambu studio

It has been the same (blacked out) since day one. I assume it is a graphic card/video driver issue. Bambulab didn’t have an answer. It is pretty annoying but at least everything else seems to work OK.

I haven’t seen any issues either just annoying, in agreement there. I did try and reinstall over the app but I haven’t tried removing it then reinstalling. Mine use to show up before something happened.

well remove and reinstalling didn’t work, figured it wouldn’t but worth a shot, weird

Just opened a new case with them maybe we just keep submitting and hoping they fix it soon

Have you tried opening an issue on github? This is a slicer issue, not a printer issue and thus a ticket probably won’t present the issue to someone with knowledge of how to solve the problem.

Can you search your Bambu Studio install for these files

bbl_bed_pte_bottom.svg
bbl_bed_pte_left.svg

They looks like this and this

These are the files that are not loading it. Perhaps you have some weird permissions issues with the folder they are in?

Mine are in

C:\Program Files\Bambu Studio\resources\images

Just now opened on on github

Yeap they are there and same location

This sounds like a typical graphic driver issue to me (and if so, not specific to Bambu Studio at all but just happens to surface with it). Could also be a graphics hardware problem but much less likely. Try upgrading whatever drivers are needed to run the GPU.
