Bambu Studio 2.0.0.95 creating a warning for Autodesk Fusion exports

When using the Autodesk Fusion option to “3D Print”, Bambu Studio is displaying a warning that “The 3mf was generated by an old version of Bambu Studio, loading geometry data only”. I am using the latest version Fusion - v2601.0.90. The previous version of BS (the version with the extra authentication), was working fine.

There is NO latest version of Fusion 360. They dropped the “360” from the Fusion name over a year ago.

I’m really sorry that I used the old name. A lot of people still seems to refer to it as Fusion 360, including Autodesk themselves (icon names, folders etc). I was assuming that everyone would realise from the version number that this is actually the most recent update of Fusion.

I didnt even notice they dropped the 360 until just now, and I use it daily lol. I am assuming the command to send the file from Fusion to the slicer needs to be updated by them internally. I am having the same error message in the slicer.

Hi Mike. The unusual thing is that the previous version of Bambu Studio (v1.10.2) was happy with the file format, and .3mf files saved in that version of BS don’t produce an error when opened in BS v2.0.0.95.

At the end of the day, because Fusion is only exporting geometry data, it doesn’t really matter, but it’s just another dialog box that you have to click through.

Bambu kind of hijacked the 3MF format for Makerworld, adding extra project info into their 3MF files. If Studio encounters a more generic 3MF, it pops up the warning. You can ignore the notification and your model will load as before.

Hi Ikraus. It’s really not a problem as it doesn’t have any effect on the import, just another dialog box to click. The trouble is that you get so used to dismissing dialog boxes for what really isn’t an error, that when you get a real error then you don’t notice it. It’s more of a user experience thing than anything else.

NP, figured if you were seeing 360 on your version, you needed to update.

I’ve changed the title to Autodesk Fusion to clear up any misunderstanding, thanks.

Fusion or Fusion 360, the meaning is obvious. Autodesk’s own site still uses both names.

that is the newest version…:man_facepalming:

Thanks you for saying it better than I…

Same problem here. It’s annoying.

If all you really need is the geometry, tell Fusion to transfer the model to Studio as a STL(Binary):

Hi Ikraus. I’m just being lazy!

I use the “3D Print” option in Fusion which automatically launches BS (if it’s closed) and then loads the file ready for printing. It’s so much quicker and simpler than exporting the .3mf file from Fusion and then locating and opening the file in BS.

I used to be an application developer and I consider lazy to be good, it’s another way of saying “optimising you workflow”.

Hello
I have the salme trouble with a file generated by Freecad.

So i guess it’s a general trouble on the last version

I’ve just downloaded Bambu Studio 2.0.1.50 and the issue is still there.
