Bambu Studio 2.0 keeps crashing on startup on my Mac.
Is this at launch (because it is still loading libraries on thread 0) ?
And what does thread 7 (the crashing thread) trace look like?
Well when it does run on my m1 its unresponsive, AMS selection locked out at sent to printer phase, prints poorly (A1), overites profiles etc etc. All support settings have chnaged. I had to revert back to previous version. Not worth the hassle of upgrade at this stage, too many bugs, ifs etc.
That’s at launch. Don’t know about thread 7 because I already deleted the full dump after I submitted it to Apple.
Yeah, I had to back down to the previous version too because I just could NOT get it to launch without crashing.
Well, at least knowing that it crashes at launch should help the Bambu engineers somewhat. But the full crash report would have helped them a lot more.
It seems to have something to do with running on an ARM processor. Or on an Apple M1 Pro Max processor at least. I tried running it under Windows 11 inside Parallels on my Mac and it crashed there too.
Tonight I’m going to try running it on my old Intel Mac Pro and see what happens.

strange, i also run on it on apple silicon (M2 pro) and have no issues
How do I tag this under “bug-report”? I can’t seem to figure out how to do that.
I’ve added the tag but the best thing to do is to create a github issue as this will ensure Studio developers see/track your report.
Actually, I figured out the problem. Sort of…
I deleted the config folder ~/Library/Application Support/BambuStudio and now it launches just fine.
Save that config folder, zip it, and attach it to a Github bug report (along with the full crash report).
Somewhere their parser for settings has a nasty bug.
Just upgraded to 2.00.01.50 and now I can not import objects without it crashing
Same problem with the OBJ. … keeps crashing - is there any solution?
Not sure what 2.00.01.50 actually changes, but I’ve now tested it on two machines. Both were previously running v02.00.00.95 and could import OBJ files without any issue. After updating to 2.00.01.50, neither can handle OBJ imports. It brings the system to a halt, spins up the fans, then eventually crashes the app. I even removed 2.00.01.50 entirely, including user settings, but now the previous version crashes as well.
On the upside, it gave me a good excuse to try out Orca Slicer, which worked straight away.
Crashing on windows after I select print. Received an error saying Configuration failed to load when I added this bad software release. Bambu needs to release a new download, this one is the worst and I really regret adding it.
Constant crashes on Windows 11 for me. It’s unusable. Just got my H2D as well so this is making the experience less than enjoyable.
