My Bambu Studio on Fedora has just updated, as has a couple of issues:
It takes a very long time to start, such that Fedora thinks the program has become unresponsive.
The 3D preview of the model, and the slices, doesn’t appear at all.
The problems are on the Prepare and Preview tabs. The other tabs all seem to work as normal.
There may have been a problem loading presets, which appeared to get stuck half-way through. Is there any way I can check that all presets are correctly downloaded and installed?
If I uninstall and reinstall, do I lose any of my settings?
Also having this issue on the Ubuntu flatpak version. The sidebar seems to be there on those tabs but there isn’t the actual model display for some reason. Glad to know its not only me
Exact same problem with Fedora 42 KDE plasma. Both Fedora and Bambu studio were recently updated, so not entirely sure which one is the source of the problem. THe flatpak version has been working great on my system for months…now :-(…
I believe that it is the new update from bambu studio. It was working fine today until I was trying to import a model from makersworld and bambu studio told me it needed an update and then everything went downhill. I’m trying to see if I’m able to install an older version of the software. If not then I’ll just have to wait and hope they fix this in a near future update (fingers crossed)
Hiya, would just like to add to this that if you are using flatpak and are experiencing this, you can downgrade and it should work.
I used the following but please check for your own system’s flatpak info to make sure this works for you
ray@microwave:~$ sudo flatpak update --commit=ffd0eb5704c5e1e0af5592920551e5ce37f0d1c4a3a25928e249c11c4c5c5c7a com.bambulab.BambuStudio
Does anyone also have problems with the fill color painting option? It seems since the new update it doesnt recognize faces anymore. It just select and paints the whole object. I am on MacOS 26 Tahoe. Best Regards
Edit: Ok somehow it works again. I updated macOS 26 to the newest version, restarted my macbook and bambu studio a view times, now it seems working again. Dunno what fixed the issue xD
commit 89ea13aa4a965cfd6a5538503f905b16edc24a416e94d88f68cef734e7504807 is for 2.1.1.52, which seems to be the closest commit to the problematic 2.2.0.85.
Looks like flatpack version if broken. But the versions published on github work. I have just downloaded Bambu_Studio_ubuntu-22.04_PR-7829.AppImage and I have no issues with that version. Just download it, then chmod +x, and launch
I’m very new to this 3D printing so I’m pretty excited. I installed BS 2.2.0.85 and downloaded a model from Maker World to try and print something, but as soon as I click the ‘Preview’, the app crashes. I saw a recommendation in another thread to turn ‘off’ the Threaded Optimization for BS through NVIDIA Control Panel and under the Manage 3D settings, but this didn’t help. I’ve yet to even see a ‘preview’. Thoughts?
