Feels like the 90s. Slow as ■■■■. Lags so bad that the taskbar goes away on Windows 11. Fix your program Bambu…how was this launched…? Tired of waiting two minutes every time I go to the Device tab.

This is a CPU split lock issue caused by bambu_networking.dll on Windows, or libbambu_networking.so on Linux.
It doesn’t effect all CPUs.
If you delete bambu_networking.dll file (in users/your_name/roaming/bambu studio/plugins then now the program works, but the DLL will constantly try and reinstall itself, so you have to cancel the download. Worse, now you can’t communicate to your printer.. but you can at least slice a file.
Next, use Bambu Connect, which is the same way you use Orca Slicer lol. You have to make sure you export a 3mf gcode file, not a 3mf, not a gcode file. Then print from that.
Ironically Bambu Connect also has the CPU split lock issue from my testing but it’s more manageable (don’t try to multitask whilst starting it or when communicating with the printers).
Another solution is to run Bambu Studio or Bambu Connect on a different PC for communicating with the printers. I’ve tried this but the act of editing files on my main PC then transferring to another PC is frustrating.
The problem has been around for months but has became more of an issue recently. The devs now seem to be working on it, although I would have expected a fix by now as it’s a critical issue.

This resulted in very slow startup times and more frequent software crashes.

Same problems here too.

My machine specs are high(Intel 13th gen i9, 64GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 5090 and NVME SSD.
Bambu please fix this.

Another issue is updating the app is actually just downloading and installing the whole thing again. Rather than a true update.

Same issues here, too. Earlier today the software crashed and forced a GPU refresh (monitor went black for about 30 seconds). Very frustrating when you have to restart your PC to get rid of the lag

I’m having a similar, but slightly different, problem. It’s not just BambuStudio that slows down, but the entire Windows system. Even when BambuStudio itself is closed. I’ve noticed it’s a problem with WebView2 Manager. CPU and RAM usage are normal, but when everything starts to slow down, I’ve noticed WebView2’s “GPU Process” spike by a few percentage points. At that point, the PC becomes unusable; every click takes 30-40 seconds to respond, and everything has to be shut down.

I still have the split locking problem with Linux. I have to dual boot to a different OS, or grab a different laptop, in order to use bambu slicer.
Really wish they would fix this

I came looking for a solution to this… pretty amazing Bambulab can make such a good printer, but such lousy software.

I can confirm all the issues, freeze, unresponsive, zombie process, after many restarts it might works, but sometime it’s better to leave the office and go to beach instead of trying to print somethings.
Last Sunday (22 February 2026) for instance, I did spend 3 hours before being able to start a print.
I suspect that the many problems are caused by a very slow server. Please don’t make me wrong, I really hope that you will find a solution because the overall printer quality is:
Printer quality: 10
Software quality: 2
Result it’s not so good.
Unfortunately the time spent so solve software issues will not get paid and because of that, you should at least give all of us the possibility to connect the BambuStudio directly to the printer. It’s useless to say: Enable local LAN → than use micro SD to send jobs, we are in 2026!
Just for additional info, we are using Ubuntu 24 on a very powerful desktop machines and NVIDA cards.

Why is this problem still existing, after all this time? A bigger question, since we are in a community and we are all supposed to be working on issues “together” is why there has been no response from Bambu Labs? After all this time? Not even a “we are seeing the problem and actively working on a solution” post anywhere. ‘Free’ software so don’t care?

I’m having the same exact issue, but still haven’t found any fix yet. Can only restart the PC every time when this happen.

tuning the nvidia control panel improves a little the situation (it seems to me, but maybe a bias), but at the end if you work a lot with Bambu studio, it freezes.
I have to try with Orca Slicer.

Just received a microcode update for the processor (Linux Mint 22.3, Intel i7 12700K Desktop, nVidia 3060 12GB, 32 GB mem) and the horrifically slow Bambu Studio started running better - a LOT better. I mean, make me smile type better. Not perfect and snappy like it did before but a much better response.
I wonder if this is a compiler error?
Pardon my ignorance, but this isn’t possible now in Linux? It is on Win (and Mac AFAIK).
That’s the only way I use my printer. Having to also rely on some cloud service, besides Studio’s already less-than-stellar performance, would be unbearable (for me).

On AMD processors it usually works well, I also recognized the problem on Intel.
But somehow all the user specific filaments are not available on the lInux host. Whereas when I
install it on Windows all the settings and filaments are downloaded there. A bitty, if they can implement Windows and Mac, why not Linux.
