Bambu Studio crashes after slicing – solved (NVIDIA problem)

Yes thank you! 13900k here, the only thing that helped!

Setting windows 11 to power saver mode helped that is! Setting affinity to 0/1 actually resulted in access violation error during slicing for me

So a exactly ONE YEAR later and they still haven’t fixed this…good job Bambu.

Sorry my bad, 3 YEARS, I see someone comments it’s been know about since 2023…wow.

still crashing with my rtx3090 and 13900k, have to switch to slim tree support for half my models. disablding nvidia thread optimization helps. setting cup affinity every time rebooting is ridiculous but helps

To be candid I don’t feel this is a Nvidia issue. It would be great see Bambu take ownership for this. My other GPU intensive applications don’t crash while Bambu Studio crashes all the time. And yes, I thread optimization disabled and have tried CPU affinity as well, but Bambu Studio still crashes often.

What is also interesting is my much less powerful I7 12th Gen, 16 GB Intel GPU laptop slices faster than my I9, 64GB, 14th Gen with the Nvidia RTX4070 workstation so something is just not working right.

Can Bambu please fix this issue. its a huge problem. Bambu Studio is so unstable is unusable most of the time. Then i have to go and keep changing these settings.

The CPU, not the GPU, performs slicing. Watch the Performance graphs in Task Manager as you slice and display models. CPU peaks occur during slicing, while the GPU is nearly idle. Start panning, zooming, and rotating the model display to see the GPU go to work.

Research Bambu Studio CPU affinity settings. Sometimes newer Intel PCs need restrictions on which cores are used.
