Bambu Studio Cut tool bug report

The new cut tool is much better and flexible to use than before. However there is a bug in version 1.8.2.56.

  1. After the cut is performed, the kept part of the model will move, sometimes partially out of the build plate. But the worst part of the bug is # 2 below.

  2. When moving the kept part of the model back onto the plate, for some reason, a model from another plate ( ie. same 3MF file having multiple plates situation) will now also be shown as an object on the plate on which the model was just cut, even though one cannot visually see the newly added model. If the model from another plate has a different color, a prime tower showing two colors will be added onto the plate as well. Even worse, sometimes the models on the same 3MF files will all be shuffled among different plates. If some models on different plates look similar, one may not even notice they have been moved around.

You might want to confirm that the bug still exists in the current release, v1.8.3.89.

If it is still present, the developers will see/fix it quicker if you submit the issue on Github.

I don’t see the version that you referred to. When I checkef for updates, it stated that the version I have is the latest. In any case, it should be easy for BL staff to try verifying the bug.

The version number in my post is a link to the release notes. Look under the Assets heading for the package appropriate for your system.

There is little evidence that BL staff or their software developers pay any attention to the user forums. Github is the proper location to submit software bugs and issues if you want them to be resolved.

still exist for me . this and all other stupids bug. you cut iin half you have 3 piece. you navigate one step back you have 2… i love bambu but i have never se a software so … so poorly tested. U.I .U.X . Name it … I’m looking for competition to get out of this mess

i think they are no new to dev that they don’t know how to adresss this… This is a major part of an ecosystem and i’m looking for alternative just because they have one or the poorest QA department in the biz… It’s regresssion after regressioin etc… i bet they went to automated testing. they could be as noob as that…

It is ironic that the person complaining about bugs and QA can’t put together a post with correct punctuation, spelling or capitalization.

As of the latest version 1.9.1.67, after the cut, the kept part still moves from its original position. So the #1 problem at the top of this thread still exists.

Not fully test yet if the #2 problem still exists.

Annoying issue! Parts still moving after a cut in 1.9.3.50. Not entirely sure if this is a bug or a feature that perhaps can be turned off. I want to cut several parts and remerge afterwards, but the object moving about makes this extremely tedious!
