Bambu Studio doesn't seem to honor filament selection

I have the AMS loaded with two different types of white PLA. In the Studio, I assign my parts to position 1. When I “Print Plate”, it typically selects position 3 for the parts I assigned to position one. It’s easy to correct this in the final dialog, but it’s also easy to not notice that it has selected A3 instead of A1.

Shouldn’t it know better?

The number of the filament in the studio is not the number of the AMS slot.

Also if you have dark red and bright red, studio will see them both as red and select one of the red ones in the AMS.

So normal operation is to set the AMS slot as the last step before printing?

Seems odd that they aren’t correlated.

What if you have two different white PLA in the same print? If you can’t assign them in Studio, how can you tell which will be used where?

I think you have to keep track of which filament is which. Maybe it will match it if you have the exact same hex number? Never tried it.
