Bambu Studio plates disappears

When I slice the plate, the screen disappears and will not show up any longer. I am able to send the finished Gcode to printer, but can not view it and it will not reload the plate.

Does this happen for every print or just this one? Regardless, what I would do if restarting the app/PC didn’t fix it is I would uninstall/reinstall Bambu Studio. Or install OrcaSlicer and try that.

It does it every print. I have tried restarting and uninstalling. The restart makes no difference, the uninstall works for about 3-4 slices.

I’m sure someone on this forum will help with a solution. I wonder if it is a graphics driver issue. Anyways, did you see if the same thing happens with OrcaSlicer?

I have the same issue - the plates disappear after a few prints on my Mac. Has anyone figured out a workaround?

Looks like the problem is with DisplayLink Manager like highrise955 hints. When I kill it and restart Bambu Studio, the plate appears again. You can start DisplayLink immediately after with no side effects.

Apparently when plate disappears it has an issue with the zoom of the plate which is either over zoomed in or zoomed out within the Studio.
Regardless, the workaround I was able to find is to go to Preview tab wait for the Studio to re-slice the entire usually the plate appears sliced but zoomed in all the way.
All I have to do is zoom out and switch back to Prepare tab as the two views are synchronized to continue to do the adjustment.
Hope it helps.
This is Windows based workaround FYI

Did anyone every figure out how to resolve this issue? I am having the same problem or similar? My stuff never gets sliced though

I have the same issue in Ubuntu, it started when upgrading from 24.04 to 24.10. I have tried several old and new versions and even built Bambu Studio from scratch. Same thing, there is no plater in Prepare or Preview views. I have tried zooming in and out to no avail. It bust be some runtime dependency that is no longer fulfilled.

Hey,

I managed to fix this issue, and it turned out the problem was related to the display server in GNOME, which is also what Ubuntu uses by default. GNOME recently switched from Xorg to Wayland, and Bambu Studio seems to have compatibility issues with Wayland.

To resolve this, try logging in with Xorg instead of Wayland. Here’s how:

  1. Log out of your current session.
  2. On the login screen, click on the gear icon or the “Settings” option next to your username.
  3. Select "GNOME on Xorg"or “Ubuntu on Xorg” (depending on the options provided).
  4. Log in again.

This should help with the display issues you’ve been seeing in Bambu Studio.

I can confirm that this workaround works. But it’s not a solution. I refuse to go back to 1960:s display technology. Please make it work with Wayland!
