I generate a model in Fusion 360 and save it as a .3mf file when I drop it into Bambu Studio it appears complete yet when I hit slice plate only the first layer appears on the plate. I am new with bambu slicer but the same model works in Prusa slicer. Help please
Is the slider on the right hand side of Bambu studio at the bottom? The slider will only slow layers up to the layer it is set at.
I had never seen this happen before, and it took me several tries to duplicate something similar to your description, but it did finally happen. I exported some Fusion 360 designs as .3mf, dropped the files individually as new projects in Studio, and the first three times it sliced and displayed completely in the Preview. On the fourth attempt, the preview displayed only the first 3 layers. As suggested by @JonRaymond, the right hand slider was near the bottom, and raising it showed the full preview.
For most of my worthwhile designs in Fusion 360 (the ones worth saving), I export the designs as .step files (which are said to produce smoother curves).
For the really quick and dirty one-off prints, the ones that are easier to re-create than to find in storage, I use the 3D Print option in the Fusion 360 Files menu, which (after the first print) sends an .stl file direct to the slicer of my choice, and does not create an intermediate file that needs to be deleted later.
I don’t use the Fusion .3mf export because Studio always warns that only the geometry will be loaded and because sometimes the model overhangs the plate at the origin. These are not major issues, but they do require additional input on my part to ignore or re-arrange the model.
Thank you both for you help on this confusing issue. I tried .3mf, Step and .stl and I exported them and dropped them into BS and they all behaved the same. Although they appear complete ( upper left of the frame) they all slice as only one layer. Because they are only one layer it does no good to scroll up with the slider. If I send it to print it prints one layer.
I did notice that if I bring an older Fusion 360 model into BS it slices & prints appropriately. I have done many many iteration of this simple button from scratch and for the past 2 days the outcome has been the same. One thing I notice is I do a simple extruded rectangle without any features it slices and prints as expected. So Strange!
I have what I think may be a similar issue… For some reason I cannot get something close to 0.4mm to print. I thought it had to do with going below the nozzle diameter but this is all at least 0.4 or close to a .4 multiplier. The thickness of this wall is .49mm I tried multiple file formats and I still cannot slice this… Thoughts?
