I have been using Bambu Studio Software with my X1-Carbon.
Yesterday I was prompted to do a software updated. When I clicked on the prompt, nothing would happen after the first click.
I tried downloading the software and install… it would just disappear upon getting the license window screen. The license screen never actually shows the license agreement.
I uninstalled Bambu Studio and deleted all known Bambu Files and tried the reinstall. Same thing… just disappears when I get to the license screen.
I have tried:
Installing Bambu_Studio_win_public-v01.09.03.50-20240621095059
Updating windows
Turning off the firewall
Running as admin.
Restarting the computer.
Always the same… closes itself at the licensing screen of the installation.
If you’re running into installation issues on your system, that is outside the scope of this forum but there are some things you can try.
See if you can load a previous version of Bambu Studio.
Try loading Orca Slicer instead.
If you have the technical acumen, review your Windows event viewer and filter for Critical and Error messages. What you want to look for is references to errant libraries or load failures. Often the issue comes up because a file is missing or corrupt.
Run the Windows File Checker. This will do a self diagnostic on the critical system files and try to repair any of them. Here’s an article on how to do that But here is the TLDR version, Just open the command prompt in Admin mode and run these two commands in sequence.
As always, before running any system changing commands, create a restore point first.
If the first two don’t work and the last three suggestions are outside of your comfort zone, then I’m afraid you’re going to have to seek help from a qualified technician. If you live in the US, the best option is to use Best Buy’s geek squad. You will likely lose all your data but for a flat fee they will restore your system.
