I’m using Bambu Studio on a MacBook Pro with an M5 Pro and 48 GB of RAM, and the performance is absolutely terrible. Large projects lag horribly when zooming in on the model. The exact same project runs perfectly in OrcaSlicer — zero issues, zero lag, everything is smooth. Bambu Studio also works fine on my PC.
So why, on one hand, are you unable to properly optimize your own software, and on the other hand, you restrict convenient use of software made by more talented people who actually seem to care about making things work properly?
I bought yet another one of your printers, and honestly I’m getting closer and closer to selling everything and moving to another brand. Please finally fix Bambu Studio. I don’t know — hire the OrcaSlicer team so they can show you how Mac software should be done.
what if, instead of purging between colors, there was a “marbling” setting? if the color transition does NOT need to be sharp, you enable "marbling and mid print, it backs out color 1 and pushes color 2 so instead of purging, it just keeps going with the new color and slowly transitions into the new color. ZERO PURGE. this would be a great feature to argue the purge waste topic. plus it adds an artistic swing into almost ANY print. I have scoured the forums, both local and public. I have seen ZERO mention of this feature. how do we get this feature to come to fruition?

yet there is still no easier way to add and move an object without having to combine it , move it (why ?!) before you can place it on another object ….
I sometimes get double openings of projects. What I mean by that is the model on the build plate is opened twice. So when I slice, I get the error message about conflicts of G-code, and I have to delete one of the duplicated objects. This seems to happen randomly and is not just limited to this new version.
While it is not specifically for this version i would like to still point out a few things:
Not being connected to the internet while using the slicer still throws a prompt every few seconds. Clicking it away just gives a few seconds before it pops up again.
Solution: Log out of the slicer. Log back in once the internet connection has been established again.
Switching between printer profiles, moves the items on the plate.
Very happy with the sacrificial layer with counter bore holes (quality > bridge counterbore holes). But it still add support as if the bridge (the sacrificial layer) is not there. Max bridge length is set to 999 (or any other value). No support is the purpose of the sacrificial layer.
When the support is set to normal, there is an option “Don’t support bridges”. when enabled indeed no support. With tree support that option is missing (intentional?) and support is added with bridges.
Oh this might be why my X2D profiles on MW don’t work for P1S/X1C, even if I keep parts out of the exclusion zone on the front left. The auto-moving might put the parts into the exclusion zone…
Is this not what you get if you turn down the purge volumes to zero? I haven’t tried it, but it sounds like what you’re describing. There is also the issue of priming. Priming serves the purpose of stabilizing the flow, getting rid of air and water bubbles in the molten filament. You can disable that too by disabling the prime tower.
The change was just to add support when this particular model is plugged in directly via USB (and BT, IIRC), vs. the wireless dongle which was already supported (they report as different devices when connected). And it still worked via USB, but any custom settings for the mouse in Studio weren’t saved between sessions.
Seit 2 Monaten habe ich den X2D und benutze daher Bambu Studio. Einige nicht verständliche Dinge kann man dank KI zur Lösung führen. Ich habe nun immer noch das Problem, dass nach dem Slicen nicht immer die Warnung angezeigt wird, dass die Düsenbestückung auf dem Drucker nicht mit der Im Slicer übereinstimmt. Das ist eine falsche Tatsache! Erst wenn man das geslicte Projekt speichert und dann Bambu Studio in die Englische Sprache bringt, kann der Druck nach dem Neustart und Laden der 3mf-Datei durchgeführt werden. KI meint, das wäre ein lange bekanntes Problem. Ich bitte freundlichst, das mit den nächsten Version abzustellen.
I demand a full CAD suite of tools on the level of at least Autodesk Inventor Pro. I am ok with CATIA as well. When will you provide a comprehensive CAD/CAM tool for free so that I don’t have to pay 1000s of $$$ to Autodesk anymore ???
