Bambu Studio (various versions) crash on start

Hello everyone,
It has been quite a frustrating evening as I try to get setup in the Bambu world.
“They just work” they said, but here I am, the printer might work but the software won’t even try to open. The Wiki also does not explain how exactly I’m supposed to report a crash, and to even get to the point of being able to open this topic it’s been quite the task.

But to the matter at hand.

To be clear, I double click on the installed Bambu studio, the loading screen comes up, then the actual software opens for 2 seconds, then it just closes and that’s it.
I have tried with: 1.9.7.52 installed from the Bambu website, 1.9.7.50 both installed and standalone from GitHub and 1.9.04.60 both installed and standalone from GitHub. They all do the same thing.

This forum does not allow to attach .dmp files, so I don’t know how I’m supposed to give them to you, but what I can tell you is that the error in the .dmp I looked at was “The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.”

I’m working from Windows 11, 32Gb of RAM, I don’t know what other relevant info I could provide, but please ask and you shall be answered.

Same problem, bumping for a solution. Everything installs fine, Windows Media Player and Player Legacy installed. Open Bambu Studio, see startup screen for a few seconds, then nothing. Shows “Application Error” in event viewer, but no really useful details.

Windows 11 Latest Updates

Radeon Version 22.6.1 (Latest version that supports my GPU)

I finally fixed the issue. Sorry this might seem silly since I posted just a bit ago on this very problem but I’ve been struggling with it for a few weeks.

Only do this if you’re using a dedicated GPU.
Click Windows Key Type in “Device Manager”
Click Display Adapters
Right click any “Onboard” display adapter you have and disable it.
Voilà

I only have a dedicated GPU and there is no Onboard display adapter other than my dedicated GPU. Still having this issue - been on and off for months now.

I am having the same issue. I also do not have “Onboard” showing up. I have version v01.10.01.50. It works on my laptop, but does not work on my desktop.

Mine started crashing today on startup, and it started when I dragged Bambu Studio to the second monitor and closed it. So, the next time I open Bambu Studio, it tries to launch on the second monitor, causing it to freeze on the home screen. My solution was to disable the second monitor so the program would force itself to open on the main monitor. Once it worked, I reset the monitor settings to re-enable the second monitor. I made sure to keep BambuStudio on the first monitor and close Bambu Studio on it. This way, when I reopen Bambu Studio, it will launch on the first monitor. I just reported this bug to the support team and hope they provide a solution for future versions. I’m currently using version 2.1.1.52.

I hope this helps better explain the problem and the solution that solved it for me.

Estou usando agora a versão 2.1.1.52.

Espero que isso ajude a explicar melhor o problema e a solução que resolveu no meu caso.
